HARBORVIEW SENIOR ASSISTED LIVING

Two years ago, we knew it was time to find a locked, memory care facility for our mom, and after visiting 5 or 6 places, the decision was obvious. HarborView in Bankers Hill is by far the best memory care facility in San Diego. From the outside, you would never know it was a place for people with Alzheimer’s. It’s tucked away, beautifully landscaped and tranquil with fountains on the outside. There are times when the planes fly overhead, however, my mom and most residents spend very little time outside so the planes are not a factor. Inside is a beautiful, welcoming home with intricate, hand-crafted woodwork. It’s not institutional-looking in any way. My mom has been there two years now, and we couldn’t be happier with the staff and management. They are the most caring, loving, attentive, family-oriented staff to all the residents. The facility and all the rooms are cleaned daily, the dining room cleaned and mopped after every meal. The beautiful view from the dining room looks out towards the San Diego bay and airport. They have music, exercise, arts and crafts available to those residents able to participate. I know and trust the staff and management with the 24/7 care of my mom. I know she is safe, cared for, and loved. We are so grateful to all of them. As hard as it is watching my mom die of the brutal disease, Alzheimer’s, knowing the staff are there to take care of her and keep her safe and visiting with them and the other residents makes this journey a little less painful. It is truly a family once you enter the doors, and we are so grateful they are here!

Harborview Senior Assisted Living exceeded my expectations. After an increasing number of falls and associated hospitalizations, I was no longer able to care for my 91 year old mother at my home. She didn’t want to have to move into an institution and I didn’t want her in one either. However I also didn’t want her in a place so small there wasn’t activities and stimulation. I’m so happy that with the help of a placement guide we found HarborView. It’s a beautiful mansion with manicured gardens set on a hill overlooking the stunning San Diego Bay that has 30 residents, a full staff and daily activities. After moving in we quickly found out that the staff is what really makes this place special. They are loving, attentive, respectful, courteous, caring and fun. There are always lots of smiles, laughter and music to enjoy as well as good food and the highest quality of care. I cannot recommend this place more. HarborView Senior Assisted Living was truly an answer to our prayers. HarborView is a beautiful loving caring home, not an institution. It was the perfect place for my beloved mother’s final days. She has left us now, but she was both blessed and enriched by the love and care she received from their wonderful staff. I, and all of our family, was blessed by them as well. Thank you HarborView.

As of July, 2023 my mom's been a resident of HarborView for going on 3 years. She suffers from dementia and is non-weight bearing (bed ridden). She requires a lot of care. We have a hoyer lift that is used to move her from her bed to her recliner and back again daily. I can't express enough how happy I am that I found this place. Fortunately I live close by and can visit regularly. HarborView is much more like a home than some of the larger facilities. It is more informal and welcoming. My mom's room is kept immaculate and has lots of windows and sunlight. The staff is always cheerful, kind and very, very helpful. From the owner, Jeff, to the ladies in the office, Gladys and Karli, to Magdalena, Gloria and all the other staff, I can't say thank-you enough for their efforts to keep my mom happy, safe and comfortable. We are neighbors of the HarborView Assisted living and have had the opportunity to attend an open house in the past. I was very impressed with the beauty and spotless cleanliness of the interior. The staff was warm and welcoming and very attentive to the residents and guests. The views are stunning of the San Diego Bay. It is a grand home filled with antiques and polished wood floors. The grounds are gorgeous and well kept. It seems like one would enjoy the light and airy atmosphere of this home and benefit from the care here. It's quite lovely.

The management and staff at HarborView are warm, caring, and professional. They take excellent care of the residents and do a good job of staying in touch with family. The pricing is more than fair. The facility and grounds are very pleasant. It is big enough to have an activities program for the residents, but not so big that it feels institutional. This place has good vibes and does a great job. I highly recommend it. They took great care of my very difficult uncle.
