We moved our mom to Harmony the end of February and have been very pleased with the care she is receiving. Amanda is great and the staff takes great care of our mother. It gives us a peace of mind knowing she is there and getting great care!

My mom was the first respite resident at Harmony at Martinsburg, and we had a very positive experience. The staff was attentive, checking in regularly and providing great physical and occupational therapy. Everyone was friendly and accommodating, which helped make the transition smoother. When she needed something, the staff was quick to respond. I felt assured she was being well cared for as she recovered. The only downside was the dining experience. The food service consistently fell short—items on the restaurant-style menu were often unavailable, and although we were told guests could join residents for meals, that option was never actually possible during our stay. We truly appreciated the level of care and attention my mom received.

My mother was at Harmony for 17 months. As her dementia got worse they began documenting it as “bad behavior issues” and eventually kicked her out. They considered her crying to be a behavior issue. In the end they were cold and uncaring and very unprofessional. Their staff are not equipped or trained to handle memory care/dementia, especially Bailey Baxter. I witnessed her be mean and unprofessional wirh residents in their facility. And, when I brought it to their attention they did nothing. If your loved one needs any assistance/support I would highly recommend you look elsewhere.

Harmony at Martinsburg evicted my mother when she began to manifest signs of dementia, instead of transitioning her to their memory care unit, which was the declared and acknowledged intention when she moved in 6+ years ago. While I worked to relocate my mother to a new facility, communication from the Harmony at Martinsburg director was unreliable, cold, and unprofessional. The director also refused a request to meet in person so we could discuss my mother’s care and I could provide an update on my efforts to find my mother a new home. Harmony at Martinsburg was happy to take a substantial amount of my mother’s money every month, until they determined she was no longer worth the effort, and then they threw her out. Had I known then what I know now, I would NEVER have selected Harmony at Martinsburg as a place for my mother.

I can’t say enough words to express how happy I am with Harmony at Martinsburg. Amanda Hill was amazing! She has helped me all along the way to get my friend into an apartment and comfortable. The care that my friend is receiving is excellent. Everyone is so kind and helpful. The rooms are beautiful, the food is top-notch and all of the added extracurricular activities that they have, no one should ever get bored there.
