HARMONY AT WEST ASHLEY

I highly recommend Harmony West Ashley to the families I work with. The staff and facility are top notch. Moving into a community can be a difficult decision, and Ryan and his team make that transition so much easier! We love working with this group, and are happy to recommend them to our families. Beautiful building with an even more beautiful team. Very impressed with the new ED and new HCD; the residents and their families are in good hands.

My mom moved to independent living at Harmony about 6 months ago. Bottom line is - she's happy. I visit often. The staff are always friendly, common areas are clean and her apartment is nice. The residents gather for happy hour during the week and spend a lot of time in the common areas which is nice to see since socializing is so important. I haven't dined there but mom gets one meal a day and doesn't complain about the food. Overall it's been a great experience for her and for our peace of mind.

The amenities at Harmony West Ashley are top-notch as well, offering everything from engaging social activities to beautifully maintained living spaces. Whether it's the vibrant communal spaces that encourage socialization or the peaceful private rooms, every corner of the facility is designed to enhance comfort and quality of life.

My father and his girlfriend lived at Harmony in West Ashely for just under a year. After looking at numerous Senior Living facilities across the Lowcountry we thought Harmony would be a good fit because of the location, size, and some of the amenities offered. Unfortunately, the communication with the staff was not good. For little things such as hair appointments, happy hour, nails I found it easy to communicate with the Activities Director. However, the more important health issues and quality of care, I had the hardest time getting in touch with the Nurse Supervisor or Director. The week my Dad passed away I tried numerous times to get in touch with the Director of Nursing as I felt my Dad’s health was in jeopardy. After multiple attempts to try to get him in to see a Dr. I took things in my own hands and had him admitted to the hospital. I fear had I not been local and able to see his health go downhill so quickly, he may have suffered more than he did. After Dad’s passing, I requested to meet with the Executive Director who tried making small talk and jokes during our meeting when I questioned him about the lack of communication with the nurses, director of nursing. It was very off putting and I hope no one else has to go through what I did. This facility needs a lot of assistance and something to retain their employees as the retention rate is horrible.
