I could not leave a review without giving this facility at least 1 star. I wanted to give it no stars. This facility should be described as an independent living facility with minimal assistance. If your loved one is independent and able to do most things for themselves, they will do fine here. Otherwise, this facility has caregivers who are well-meaning but poorly trained. This, in my view, is due to how often management changes. In the almost 2+ years my mother lived there, the management changed at least 4 times. I had a meeting with the executive director (who I believe is still the executive director) after my mother had repeated hospitalizations because she was not receiving her medications consistently or in a timely manner. One of the reasons the executive director gave to me was, "The caregivers only receive 'minimal' training here." If an assisted living facility offers medication assistance as part of their services, then it seems to me that should be included in the "minimal training." This followed on the heels of a caregiver not knowing how to use the wheelchair my mother was in and asking me how to use it as well as feces being left on the floor of my mother's shower stall as well as on her bathroom floor. I cannot tell you how many instances I had of trying to communicate with the management and the staff members about all of this, and it was all to no avail. I recently moved my mother to another facility and saw a caregiver there who had once worked at Hawks Ridge. He was so happy to see my mother and relieved that she no longer lived at Hawks Ridge. His words: "I would never work there again. The caregivers are untrained, and the care that is given is negligent."

I cannot say enough wonderful things about the staff at Hawks Ridge. From the moment I walked through the doors, I was greeted with kindness, professionalism, and genuine warmth. Every team member from the nurses and caregivers to the front desk and dining staff goes above and beyond to ensure residents get the best care possible.
