Im surprised it was open for so long till now I was pca there I seen so many things that should have been shut down year's ago . . I've seen lots of med errors constantly verbal and mental abuse to residents and staff constantly when they Open the back of the building in 2015 2016 they didn't let state or anyone to expect the rooms would flood on the 3rd floor it was a mess and laundry constantly clothes would be missing you had to wash clothes in a dark dunchen creepy I hope it reopens if it does they need to hire staff that cares loves people

My family member is a resident at Haywood House and we are incredibly satisfied with the level of care they are being provided. Prior facilities have failed to meet the level of satisfaction we have with Haywood House. The facility is smaller affording the staff an opportunity to truly know all of the residents. The staff members are kind, compassionate, and are able to say how the residents are doing without having to ask anyone else. They communicate regularly with family members with status updates/issues and provide families with a level of ease knowing their loved ones are safe in their care.

I took my Sister to Haywood House in May 2020. I also took her bedroom suit which included a good mattress . In a Hospice visit in June 2021, I seen where my Sister's mattress was gone and had been replaced by a piece of foam. The foam pad and underlying box springs were soiled completely through. The staff and management could not explain what had happened to the mattress. I filed a complaint with NC Health and Human Services, who turned the complaint over to Haywood County Dept. of Social Services. The Adult Home Specialist with Social Services found Haywood House in violation of: 1. A standard deficiency of having my Sister sleeping on a mattress (piece of foam & box springs) that was not cleaned or sanitized. 2. A Type B violation of failure to maintain my Sister's room in an orderly manner, free of obstructions and hazards detrimental to safety and welfare. My Sister had 4 known falls, 2 requiring trips to the hospital emergency room during May and June 2021. I was thankfully able to move my Sister to another facility in July 2021.

Very dishonest administration. My mother was taking out in July and due a refund. We have waited 3 months and promised they were working on it. Called home office in hickory and no returned phone calls. She also “lost” a lot of her clothes which were never returned. Had a heel injury that was never treated which when we took her to the doctor the tendons were showing. This place is horrible!!!

If you can even find staff, most are extremely rude to guests (even worse to non family members). Staff is so few that patients are falling constantly (even out of their wheelchairs). Some patients are extremely violent and not being watch, so patients and guests are being hit and knocked down. Dont take anything to your family members that you want them to keep. Staff dont watch patients so personal items go missing all the time. Horribly rude and lacking in supervision. Take your family to a different facility. Stay away.
