This facility was purchased by Grand Victorian (Gardent Corp) at the end of 2024. Note that the only positive reviews here are before this transition. My mother lived here for 5 years until June 2025. In the last 6 months, the management is entirely new and not resident focused. They do not engage with the residents if and when they are in the halls. The food quality has plummeted, the publicly lit areas were dimmed, housekeeping and laundry have become hit or miss. Any questions or concerns have to be forwarded to “corporate” and there is no follow up. My mother’s last month’s rent was debited twice via ACH from her account and they refused to correct the situation. I was finally able to have the bank take care of it. Many residents have moved or are moving. I hope this was just an error and not a concerted effort to take advantage of the elderly who are moving between facilities and might be confused or too trusting to ask questions.

Don't be fooled, looks can be deceiving. My parents lived here 3 yrs ago.staff and leadership change so often it's mind blowing, it was called independence village east back then wonder why they changed their name?? Let's see we had a nurse who convinced my dad who had mild dementia that some one was filming him with him knowing it , so they could demand we take the security camera down (wonder why) then I was taking my dad to a dr appointment and like always we had staff take mom who had mild dementia to the activities room where Staff could keep an eye on her the new director of nursing said "we are not baby sitters" I thought it was assisted living??? Always finding mom wet and staff lying to my face the list goes on and on!! Just look deeply at facilities like this. And don't believe any reviews from Brad Miller, he ran the place when we were there, he's not a good person!!

My dad has been a resident at IVZ for close to 2 years. He began his journey as an independent resident and is currently living in memory care. Kudos to the entire staff. The caregivers are kind, knowledgeable and friendly to all. Questions are always answered promptly or referred to the appropriate leader. Michelle Kartholl is the fabulous director of the MC unit. She is engaged with residents and their loved ones. We've seen many improvements since her arrival. The entire staff - leaders, medical, activities teams and support staff are kind, caring, resourceful and engage with families. We are very pleased with the care and kindness expressed to my dad each day.

My dad ended up needing assisted living due to some health concerns. We went from casually browsing facilities to needing a place to go after a hospital visit. Angela Pauley was my only contact for Independence Village Zionsville East, and once we decided on this facility, she came to the hospital for my dad to fill out his lease and other paperwork, she talked to me daily for a week to ensure everything moved smoothly, and she facilitated my dad moving into the furnished apartment to test out the facility before moving into his specific unit. She did not pressure my dad or me, and she worked with him on his schedule to ensure the move went smooth. This transition would not have happened without Angela’s guidance, support, and overall approach. Now, my dad has been in the facility for 3+ months, and I visit often. The facility itself is always a clean, happy environment. Brad and Willy add another element to this facility, as they are constantly high energy, happy, and overall outstanding individuals to interact with. I called Brad today, to inform him that I would be writing a letter, and I told him that there is not one complaint I have about this move, the facility, or the staff that work there. I held off condoning Angela to see if the facility lived up to expectations, and I can happily say that Independence Zionsville East has exceeded any expectation I had going into this experience. I can not say enough great things about Independence Village Zionsville East, Angela, Brad, or Willy, and the other staff that I do not know by name. This new home for my dad has helped him become more social, healthier, and has continued to impress me and my dad with the activities and environment they offer their residents. Kudos to the leadership team for creating such an easy environment for my dad to thrive in!

I really enjoyed visiting Independence Village Zionsville East. The facility is well set up and impressive. More importantly, the staff was the most impressive part. From Mr. Miller, the Executive Director, down, every person I encountered was courteous, polite, and helpful. Everything seems to be organized and well ran under good direction. This facility is at the top of my list on places that I feel comfortable taking care of my loved ones. I encourage anyone needing a place to help facilitate the care of a loved one to check this place out. Oh… the family also really enjoyed the live Nativity Scene!
