Heritage Green Assisted Living

From the moment I walked in and was greeted by Kim at the desk, I knew that is where I wanted to bring my mom. Shelly the marketing director was so helpful and understanding to my mom’s needs. All the staff were kind and compassionate. Wren the activities director was so caring. He brought smiles to everyone he met. Jem the health director set high standards for her nurses and med techs. Elizabeth the NP was top notch. Best assisted living facility in Mechanicsville.

Navigating the process of finding an assisted living facility for a family member, particularly with specialized memory care services, was daunting. My husband and I weren't sure where to even begin. We lucked out by first choosing to tour Heritage Green. Although there is not a current spot available, Shelly took the time to sit with us and provide invaluable guidance for interim care. This facility isn't like anything we had pictured - the residents seem to truly be living as and treated as whole people, there are tons of activities, it is homey, there were family members visiting freely and so many beautiful spaces for residents, the staff seemed happy to be there - it just felt authentically joyful. They even have a space set up for a regular dog friend who visits! We are currently in contact (communication has been amazing) and crossing our fingers for a spot soon. This is honestly the first time during a very difficult few years that we have felt this optimistic about the potential quality of life ahead for him. Incredibly grateful for the guidance thus far, which Shelly really did not have to procide, and hopeful our family member can become a part of this community very soon.

My mother stayed at Heritage Green for 2 weeks, giving us respite. She enjoyed the friendly and caring staff, the outings for ice cream, and the food. She said she will go back to visit when we plan our next vacation!

My mother has been at Heritage Green for 8 months. Everything that I have to say about Heritage Green has been positive!! I have always felt like everyone was friendly and helpful.. it feels like family. If there's ever anything my mom needs they will try their best to accommodate her. If you have any problem at all they are more than willing to sit down and talk to you. I was up there today for a residence meeting I mentioned something that needed to be done whenever they had time and they were knocking at the door of my mom's room to get it done. Not everyone is going to be happy with everything but I am very thankful that I have a place to put my mom that is close by and it's clean and friendly and good food!! So thank you Heritage Green staff for all you do!!

This location has some very friendly staff who put in a lot of effort. They do have regular events that are absolutely wonderful. Heritage Green is a beautiful facility and they have very good cooks. That is where the wonder ends. This location is regularly HIGHLY understaffed. They have an EXTREMELY high turnover rate. There are many employees with terrible work ethics. Many employees can be seen chatting on the phone. There have been many medical professionals with a horrible attitude. These attitude transfers over to the residence care. There are employees that are inappropriate and do not represent a professional atmosphere. There are many times when the amount of patients to care staff, medication staff, and nurses is a ration of 1:40 or many times more. This includes their memory care unit. The amount of negligence that has occurred in this facility is absolutely horrendous. This is a place you can send a loved one who can do more for themselves and the comfort of knowing they have access to page for help.
