It used to be decent, but after the new owners took over it has gone to hell. Running out the good caregivers, taking away services, raising the prices. Linda P. acts like she cares but does not. She got rid of all the people that actually do care. Thankfully I got my father out of there. If I could’ve given them zero stars, I would have. The State will be called on this facility…

My mother is currently in the Memory Care unit at High Desert Haven in Ridgecrest, CA. I live in Florida. My weekly phone calls are my life line to her and vice versa. However, since the new owners took over in July 2024, I have been unable to easily reach my mother. First the facility changed the telephone number to the Memory care unit with no notice to me. Then they disconnected the replacement number with no notice to me. Leaving me unable to reach my mother for weeks. Now there is one phone number that rings on the assisted living side, but the employees have no clue how to get the phone to the memory care side. I have left no less than 4 messages for Linda, the manager, without a return call. The employees sound confused and are forced to use their own cell phones to connect me and my mother. Since the new owners, it is chaotic, unprofessional, and I worry if the care has gone down hill as well. I am worried and scared for my mother. And still no return call from Linda....

High Desert Haven took excellent care of my dad during the last two years of his life. Great facility and atmosphere and a loving and caring staff. Like family!

High Desert Haven is an excellent facility. Each unit has a living room, bedroom, and bath. Meals are prepared and served three times per day in the main dining room. The food is of excellent quality and quantity. Residents' birthdays are recognized. The whole facility it clean and in excellent condition. The staff is made up of professionals who want to help others, not just having a job. Daily activities such as exercise classes, BINGO, and trivia are planned and held regularly. Several churches hold regular services on site each week. Transportation to and from medical appointments, beauty shops, and shopping trips is available. To sum it all up in one sentence, High Desert Haven is an excellent facility for anyone who wishes to live in a friendly and safe atmosphere with a loving and caring staff. I wrote this review two years ago. Nothing has changed at HDH except to improve a better way of doing something comes along that improves the lives of it residents. If something falls below the standards that Abraham, the owner, has established, he does not hesitate to correct he situation. My in-laws loved High Desert as well as the people who worked there. Abraham is a wonder person to know. In talking with his employees they too really like him. When it comes time to move out of our home I would not hesitate to move into High Desert Haven.

My mother is extraordinarily happy since moving in. She loves the staff, the facility, the activities and the food! I agree with her assessment. They are allergy caring and accommodating. I can't say enough.
