Update: Changed my review from 1-star to 4-stars. 😉 It's not very often you receive a call from the ED...in fact I've never received a personal call from an Executive Director. I have great faith that under the new leadership of Chris Darnell, situations like this will be under control. __________________________________________________________ I’ve spent more than two weeks trying to get a landline set up for my mom at Highgate, and the experience has been extremely frustrating. I was told to contact Spectrum, which I did immediately. Spectrum was great — they located Highgate’s bulk account and sent the equipment right away. The problem started when we tried to hook it up. We were told that only Highgate’s maintenance team could install it. After multiple attempts, I’m now being told they are actually unable to complete the setup. If I had known that from the start, Spectrum could have sent a technician days ago and my mom wouldn’t have gone 10 days without being able to communicate. To make matters worse, trying to reach staff has been difficult. On Saturday after 5pm, the phone rang endlessly with no answer. When I called again on Monday, it rang more than a dozen times before someone finally picked up. At this point, I’m seriously questioning the competence and communication of the staff and leadership. This should have been a straightforward request, but it’s turned into a stressful and unnecessary ordeal.

After walking through the door, I loved it immediately! I love the activities Lauren plans for us, it’s so much fun to get out of the community to explore. I’m close to nearby shops, which is nice, and it’s fun getting to know my new neighbors. Our dining room is great - not only is the food good but it’s customizable to your preferences and portion sizes. Patti at the front desk is very friendly and helpful when scheduling transportation to doctor appointments. I’m close enough to my family so I can see them, but it’s nice to live on my own and not have them worry. When I moved in, I decided I would be more open minded and I am so glad that I did. I am a very private person but I signed up for the HydroSpa Experience and it has been nothing but amazing! I love hopping in the bubbling bath, listening to the rain water sounds, and how all the aromatherapy oils smell. But the massage chair… Oh yes! It’s wonderful. I get to enjoy a glass of wine while it works it’s magic getting all of my back, legs, and even my toes! I’m in my late 70’s and I’m so happy I was ready to move here… it’s just a great place to be.

My mom has moderate dementia and lived alone in Alabama. The decision to keep her in Montana was one of the hardest things I've ever done. She was extremely resistant to leaving her home and still doesn't really understand why she can't go home. My decision to place her at Highgate came very easily. Every interaction I had with the staff and residents prior to moving her in was extremely pleasant and reassuring. She has been there for 3 weeks and is thriving. I have seen so many positives in these 3 short weeks. She's getting her meds regularly, eating 3 meals a day and she's gaining weight! She had lost 18 lbs in a very short period of time. She's acclimating quite nicely as they assured me she would. She is now joining in activities, loves her view into the courtyard and always has nice things to say about the staff, the residents and the food.

We moved my wife’s mom into Highgate Assisted Living last year. It was hard for us to transition her from her home to the assisted living, however with her large amount of medication she needed to take and not being able to assist her everyday, we finally decided on Highgate. The staff is friendly and extremely helpful and patient. Mom just loves her medication technician Kate who arrives each morning with a smile. Highgate has many opportunities for staying active and enjoying well-balanced meals. Mom has made many new friends and seems to be adjusting better than we expected. This is all due to the staff at Highgate. Thank you for all you do.
