Placing my mom in HH is like being at home but better. Meals, meds, showers, pt and piece of mind.

Our Dad has been a resident of Highland House for the last 4 1/2 years. He was, to say the least, extremely reluctant to even consider it. He adamantly refused to allow one of us to stay with him in his home, or to stay with one of us in our homes. He absolutely would not allow a stranger in his home either. After a while, he finally agreed to give Highland House a month’s trial. I wouldn’t be honest if said that he was happy to be there after the month was up. However, during this trial period the entire country was locked down due to Covid19. None of us could go anywhere. Once the country wide lockdown loosened up Dad had adapted well and felt like Highland House was home. During his stay at Highland House he has had a couple of serious health scares. After one of these events he was sent to a rehab facility. Dad insisted on returning home to “his room” at Highland House. He constantly talks about how good the staff is to him. He tells us that he has never heard a disagreement, crossword or argument among the staff or the residents. The staff greets him by name, ask him if he would like or needs anything and seem to genuinely care and have compassion for him. Dad will soon be 92 years old and is happy and content at the Highland House, plus we are relieved in knowing he is in good hands. Dad receives three full meals and two snacks daily, his meds are administered in a timely fashion, his room and linens are kept cleaned or washed regularly. The building and grounds are well maintained, clean and neat. Visits with the residents are encouraged. Wendy Gibson, Administrator, stays in contact with us and we have had no issues in reaching her when necessary. We, as a family, are more than pleased with the care and compassion shown to our Dad. All four of us would highly recommend Highland House to anyone needing this type of care. A sincere thank you to Highland House. Terry A. Brackman, The Ayers Family

Am I grateful to be done with this facility. My loved one received the poorest quality care here. They deteriorated so quickly here and was literally left in their bed, and neglected. Talking to corporate did not help whatsoever . Then when the director windy Gibson was tired of caring of her patient, instead of taking the time to safely place them somewhere safe near their family she decided to "ship"them across state even tho there was options near their family..just to be spiteful. . After a battle fighting against the families wishes for them to be closer to home, the patient was placed in better custody I can say thank God this battle was won against a person who cares for no one other than herself and does not give a care in the world for her residents. She is rarely present at the facility, rarely communicates, and care is directly linked to money. You can't pay or care for yourself they'll leave you on the floor or confine you to a wheelchair and threaten you if you try to get up instead of assisting. Resources and care are skimmed at this mega corporate for profit prison system taking advantage of the helpless and elderly. If you can avoid this place please do so as this place only cares about money and how much costs they can cut over patient quality of life and satisfaction. Seeing residents that cried to be free of this place and ate cereal or often no dinner at all because they could not order enough food and fed their residents snacks and junk food...s stay away!!

A warning for anyone considering this establishment to house and care for their loved ones. If your loved ones are not in a state to be self sufficiency then please stay far away from this place. This facility is the best example I can think of to describe the words abuse and neglect. The residents, epically those who are not capable of speaking for themselves will not be taken care of. It is clear to me, and apparently to many other people who have posted reviews that the treatment of these poor residents is no better than the treatment of trash. The director Wendy Gibson, is too shellfish and vindictive to be in a position to oversee the care of others. On site unseen? Who can say, she was always unavailable, especially when I needed her help the most for my loved ones while in her care. The residents are fed mostly cereal for meals, and junk foods for snacks. This type of diet has only worsend the physical heath conditions of my loved ones. Some staff reported to be rude, and at time physically aggressive when "helping" my loved ones, which was deeply concerning and upsetting. After consideration we have chosen to move our loved ones to a more caring facility near by. Again, I cation you all, stay away from this place. If you find that your loved ones are set to go to this establishment, be prepared and as present for them as possible, so they may receive more appropriate care.

If I ca give to this people-10 stars I wold and o will do this because the experience we had with my mother in law who was patient there. Dirty facility, careless management, only after the benefits, to much to list The personal ,few ok but very hard to get them Unfortunately a place where I guess the patient instead enjoying the time left in their lives ,prefer to live this world sooner I will not recommend to nobody after our experience!
