When I was there for a 2 week program it was a living hell. The counselor made me talk abt the trauma in group that I clearly said I didn't want to talk abt it. Not only did that happen once it happend 3 times. Everyday I had no motivation to go because I know I didn't like to talk abt it i wasn't ready to put that out in the world yet she still made me talk abt it.

My first visit has been cancelled by the provider twice. Both the morning of my morning appointments. I'm so frustrated because I can't get any care, much less any continuity of care. How is anything suppose to stay healthy? Also, your intake perso seems like a bad fit for the mental healthcare position that she's in.

Regarding Aurora Psychiatric Department: BEWARE!!!!! best advice: find a psychiatrist who has a private practice and does not accept insurance because Aurora psych dept is a scam. it is an absolute nightmare getting in touch with your doctor after your appointment if you have issues with the Dr's medication changes/prescription. i've picked up meds the same day they were prescribed and had bad reactions the same day i was seen by the DR, but Aurora doesnt care. You have to make another appointment to get help when new meds give you bad reactions or you can email them on mychart and then wait a week to hear back from a group of nurses who typically ask you additional asinine questions in several back and forth emails that further delay the dr from responding. other times they would tell me if i felt that bad then i should go to their ER. why would i go to your ER when my dr just saw me 24 hours ago and i am having side effects as a result of changes at that appointment!!!!!? Aurora wont allow their DR to pick up a phone and call a patient with advice about medication side effects/adjustments when you were just seen a few hours ago.

Intake nurse addressed me as "Tom" in the intake phone call. Was told that there was a 90 day wait to even see a provider and then no guarantee of scheduled therapy sessions. Was informed that staff "disliked" filling out SSI Disability paperwork and refused to do so. When asked for additional behavior health resources in the area I was referred to the county with an unhelpful sigh.

This has some great doctors but Aurora is junk. They put in a new strong policy claiming "FDA Regulations" about getting prescriptions, so basically you'll run out of your prescriptions every single month with no remorse due to their new code. I have run out of pills for 9 months straight because of this. Normally, you can fill your prescriptions a little bit early because most places know, that by allowing it to be refilled only on the exact day you run out is asking for trouble. Oh, and if your pharmacy runs out of the pills you need? Good luck, you're going to wait another week to get them, as I have a 25% success rate in getting them to transfer it to another pharmacy without saying "I'll get fired". They have literally written me a prescription on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day, and would not change the date claiming they can not or they would get fired, then they then claimed it was an insurance issue, After talking to the pharmacy, I found Aurora was lying to me. When I discussed it with them, alls they did was fire back and say "Sir, we have a policy that we can make exceptions". I tried to explain to them this is incorrect because it keeps happening over and over. I'm trying to find another place because health is unfortunately not a concern for Aurora. I have nothing but good things to say about the doctors, its the Aurora branch that's awful.
