Having worked in senior living for over 16 years, I can say with certainty that I would never place my mother in this memory care facility if I had a choice. With the exception a few care staff and kitchen staff who were compassionate as is staff member one being named Z and the other Ameriline the rest of the team appears untrained and disengaged. While they may smile, the nursing staff behavior is often aggressive, and they routinely ignore alarms and resident concerns. The cleanliness of the rooms is unacceptable—dirty laundry is left on the shower seat . Residents are denied autonomy, including the simple choice to remain in pajamas if they wish; instead, they are forced to dress regardless of their comfort or preference. Most troubling is the lack of personal connection. Staff make no effort to understand who the residents are as individuals, which strips away their dignity and humanity. I witnessed deeply concerning conditions during mealtime, but the list is too long to detail here. They did finally listened and now my mom is comfortable in her pajamas. The most distressing moment was finding my mother undressed, lying sideways in her bed, with two soiled diapers discarded on the floor—and then being confronted by the caregiver when I raised concern. This experience was heartbreaking and unacceptable. I strongly advise against entrusting this facility with the care of a loved one.

When we began looking for a memory care facility for my mom, we went in search of caring and care giving community. We found it at Hillside Terrace Senior Living Hillside offers my mom an ideal living environment. The nurses and staff are supportive, engaged and capable. They all show a sincere interest and concern for each resident and they insure that each feels safe, seen and understood. This also goes for the food service which is provided by one of the most dynamic and capable chefs that one could imagine in an institutional setting. The design of the living spaces are also exemplary. The rooms offer a quiet repose from the communal spaces, while the communal spaces feel like a living/dining room with ample space to move around and comfortable seating, both indoor and outdoor. The communal activities, whether they be concerts by local musicians, games and crafts, etc. are all well orchestrated and organized and offer a significant enrichment to the residents. I am most impressed by the warm and professional relationship that is fostered by everyone at Hillside. This includes not only the staff but also the facility directors. This makes visiting my mom so easy and I can both ask important questions about her care and receive information about her health, habits and happiness! It makes me feel connected and assured that my mom is receiving the best possible care and having the best possible experience. Overall, I would highly advise anyone who is in search of Senior Care to put Hillside Terrace on their list to visit and to experience a quality senior living environment. It represents a benchmark.

My mother in law has been in Hillside Terrace Memory Care for 6 weeks now. The facility has exceeded my expectations. The staff are gentle, friendly and dedicated to the people they care for. They were helpful in answering all my questions. They offer a nice balance of activity and relaxed time. My mother in law has enjoyed the twice weekly music concerts as well as the weekend football watching lunches they have. She is enjoying the food and I understand why - the chefs are dedicated to providing fresh, tasty food for the residents. I and my family are relieved the experience has been so positive for her and for us as family members. We really could not be happier.

Hillside Terrace is a small and family-owned facility who prides themselves on treating your family like their family. They made my mother feel welcome from the very beginning. The staff are quite friendly and the place is clean and homey. There’s an on-premises chef who prepares the meals (sometimes from the garden out in the back). My mom has enough space to move about her room safely and her aides are caring and attentive. She enjoys the various activities, performances and outings and has made many friends.

My mom has lived at Hillside for 2 and 1/2 years. It's a small, family-run, friendly, welcoming place. She's been in the new memory care unity for six months. The staff are incredibly patient and caring. She loves sitting on the patios and going on our short "trips" to the community garden that Hillside hosts. The neighbors raise vegetables for themselves and for the residents at Hillside.
