Holiday Park may be the place for you "BUT" you may want to "RE THINK". We are still waiting after a week and a half for all the paperwork that is and needs to completed by....................................................................

This is a lovely facility. I am impressed by the friendliness and professionalism of all the caregivers. There’s a truly “family” feeling about it. My room and bath were clean, bed was comfortable and once I told the social services director that I had no dietary restrictions, the food was very good.

Bureaucratical nightmare and outright liars (Amy, Director of Nursing Services) that do not have the patient’s well-being in mind. My dad needed a skilled nursing facility as the hospital was discharging him and gave me 24 hours to find one. Holladay Park Plaza seemed like a much better place than where the hospital was placing him. I tried calling multiple times and due to time restrictions, went to their front lobby to see if I could talk to someone. Their accommodating front desk person finally got me connected to their Director of Nursing Services Amy (Director of Nursing Services), who told me they had a bed for him, but needed insurance authorization. I then called my dad’s insurance and got them to push authorization through. Amy (Director of Nursing Services) told me that they wouldn’t be able to admit him that late in the day, but that he could come the next day. I told her that I’d rather take him home instead of the hospital provided care facility, for the night, and specifically asked her if that would be okay. She told me that it WOULD be okay with them as long as the insurance approved him going home for the night. I then called his insurance and got approval with a written case # to reference in case there was any denial in the future. The next morning I called Amy (Director of Nursing Services) first thing and left a message. I got a call back 20 minutes later saying they hadn’t received the proper discharge papers. I then drove to the hospital to make sure that they would fax those papers over ASAP. About 2 hours later I get a call from Amy (Director of Nursing Services) saying that they could not accept these papers because it still had the other Skilled Nursing Facility listed instead of Holladay Park Plaza. I then had my father’s Doctor update the discharge with “Holladay Park Plaza” on the paper work. I waited another hour only to find out that Amy (Director of Nursing Services) was too much of a coward to call me directly and she instead called the social worker I was working with at the hospital, saying that my dad could not be accepted because of insurance and it was too messy since he went home. I then find out that no skilled nursing facilities will take him because he went home. My dad, who has dementia is now home alone and confused, because Amy (Director of Nursing Services) outright lied to me and told me he WOULD be admitted if insurance approved. We have no other recourse at this point other than to admit him back to the hospital to restart the process because of Amy‘s (Director of Nursing Services) blatant lies which she refuses to admit to. There is no way I would’ve had him come home if I was told it would lead to this. I then called the facility to have Amy explain why she told me this and she never returned my call. My wife eventually went down to the facility to get clarity as to why he wasn’t accepted. She was told he was denied and that she (Amy) didn’t have to tell my wife why. She lied to my wife and told her she never said my dad would be accepted to begin with. She then explained what a nightmare my fathers insurance was and how they often deny care. It was evident from several things she said at this point that Amy and her staff denied my father because they didn’t want to risk insurance not paying for his care. Amy and her staff gave my dads bed to the next patient because that was less “messy”. These people don’t care about their patients they care about themselves and money and their lies and decisions put my father’s health and life at risk. All because they didn’t want to deal with the paperwork and the small chance the insurance might later deny payment of his stay. It was evident the facilty doesn’t like that insurance and doesn’t want to take care of people who have it even though my dad was technically accepted. Do not trust this facility with the health and safety of yourself or your loved ones. They have displayed outright negligence and would not be surprised if this is a regular occurrence with them.

Beautiful surroundings. Friendly nurse assistants. Great Director of Social Service. She’s the only person that I trusted there. Downside, no one had much training on cleaning my wound. The food would be made allergen free for you,, and it was. It was a 4 course 1 meal fits all. No choices. I went from the hospital eating, because I had I could choose what sounded good to me to eating hardly anything. Anyway I was so happy to get out of here.
