We recently moved my Mother to assisted living from independent living and we are so happy with the care she is receiving. It has been a 2-3 weeks getting -to -know the new staff and routine. It’s been a warm welcoming period. She is getting the proper cleanness treatment and we never feel she is being ignored or neglected. Just the opposite they check on her almost hourly it seems. We have witnessed where staff have jumped to the rescue of residents in a false alarm situation , they reacted to quickly it was relieving to see their concern. It was a-okay nothing was wrong. Josh is the Director and his staff Nora, Daniel, Sean, Rachael, have worked together for years, that says something about their work ethic and sense of family community. Keep up the amazing work! Daniel puts on amazing entertainment weekly! He and his team decorate the atrium with class and style and every holiday is always fun and joy filled .

I came to Lake Seminole Square over two decades ago; it was for work. I have worked at many of the communities in the area, but I call Lake Seminole Square home. When my mother needed more care I asked her to come and try this lifestyle. She wasn’t driving, my father had passed away, and she was alone, and isolated. She lived in Jacksonville and I brought her down to, as she put it try it out.“ My mom came to life. She basically had, no social life and was dwindling fast. Within the first month, she flourished! She knew people that I didn’t even know, everybody knew Betty. She had her whole Dinner & Lunch schedule all planned out. Not everybody goes to lunch and dinner and independent living, but my mom did because she had lots of friends and she had to see them all. Every show, every bingo, every party, and every activity she was involved in, saying what shall I wear! The associates go out of their way to be accommodating to the residents. Even though I had been very involved at LSS for so many years, I did not know the degree of commitment and connection the associates have with the residents and the residents with each other. The reason that I am still here is because of the way that I am treated, the way I’m appreciated and respected. Lake Seminole Square is my family.

I’ve performed at Lake Seminole Square a few times now with my girl trio, The Vocalitas, for their special events and every single time we’ve been there, we have been treated with so much warmth and kindness! You can tell that the residents receive that same energy as well, they’re super lovely and talkative and so many of them come out to engage in the community events. The events themselves are always well managed and organized and the staff takes great care to ensure that we’re comfortable (and well fed!). I always look forward to coming here and Daniel Morgado (the Community Life Services Director) is such a joyful person, you can tell how much he cares about making the residents happy. Thank you all for having us as part of your community entertainment!! (Picture from one of our holiday visits!)

On behalf of our family, I want to say a bigger than big "thank you" to all the LSS staff family for the outstanding, "above and beyond the call" service during the last few weeks. My Mom, Glenda Earline Handsel, has been a resident in Assisted Living for the last 6 months and independent living for ten months prior to that. In that time, we have been so pleased with the care she has received. From her transition to Assisted Living to now, we have seen the exceptional service provided by not only yourself, but every staff member we have encountered. This kind of service is routine on a daily basis, but what we saw over the last two weeks during Hurricane Helena and Hurricane Milton, has been extraordinary. To say that the staff of LSS "kicked it up a notch" to sacrificially serve their residents during a time of intense stress is an understatement. Thank you! Thank you for the limitless hours you gave to residents to assure them and their families they would have everything they needed during these storms. Thank you for giving 24/7, round the clock attention to the needs of others, even bringing your furry family members to spend the night so you didn't have to risk leaving them home. Thank you for bringing out the electric frying pan to make sure residents had freshly made eggs! Thank you for providing entertainment and snacks as distractions to the storm and stress. Thank you for the phone calls, the town meetings, the emails, the posts to the app to keep family members informed that were not at the facility. Thank you for the ability to keep staff members on site so the residents had the security of seeing their same caregivers during the storms. Thank you for the untold hours of behind the scenes work, including putting up and taking down cots, window coverings, etc. to make the residents more comfortable and felt more safe. I am sure there are many, many other things that I didn't witness as well, and for those, thank you! We will always be grateful and appreciative of the sacrificial care the staff at Lake Seminole Square offers their residents. As all of our area strives to recover from an exhausting and emotionally difficult season, it is our hope that each one knows they are making a difference by their kindness and care at LSS.

My mom has lived at Lake Seminole Square since 2016. She started in a beautiful apartment in Independent Living and now lives in an equally lovely apartment in Assisted Living. Throughout her stay, she has enjoyed services and care suited personally to her needs. In independent living she continued her active lifestyle and made many friends. As she needed more care, assisted living afforded her independence and then attentive care. While the apartments, public areas and lakeside landscapes are impressive, the true gems of the place are the staff who are caring, hard working and very skilled. They make it a warm place where residents and their families, feel valued and well cared for.
