My sweet mom was a resident at Aviva for 4.5 years. In that time, she was well taken care of and felt safe and comfortable. All the staff are kind and compassionate: the director, Meriam; the office manager, Shelly, the director of nursing, Latasha; food service manager, Angie; the maintenance manager, Rickey, the activities department, Thomas and Autumn and the nurses, meds distribution and CNAs all worked with me to help keep Mom healthy, safe and content. Many of the staff went above and beyond what you would expect to make such a difficult time in Mom’s life as pleasant as possible. The building is beautiful and clean and always decorated for special days and the food is delicious. The staff organizes special party days for the families to celebrate with their loved ones. The Thanksgiving dinner was a favorite and so special. The staff at Aviva became my friends and I will hold them close in my heart…always.

Aviva Merrillville provided a great environment for my Dad when his care needs exceeded what we could handle at home. The staff treated him like family and their administrative processes made the ongoing efforts of care and communication very smooth and sustainable. I'm grateful for the experience and glad that my Dad was VERY well cared for.

Facility is very clean. Staff is always friendly and helpful. The residents are compassionately cared for. I would recommend Aviva to anyone who has a loved one in need.

When we visited this place, it was clean and smelled so nice. The activity department does so much to keep their people engaged and happy. With memory issues, it can be hard but the staff do such a good job. Thomas in Life Enrichment is the best, he makes sure everyone feels special and loved. I would suggest this place to anyone that is looking for a memory care place. Very clean.
