The Kensington is a great assisted living facility, their staff is very attentive and are always looking for ways to educated the community. I was able to participate in their Virtual Dementia Experience and it was eye opening. I’m grateful for their commitment to our community and seniors.

The Kensington at Walnut Creek is a truly beautiful community, beginning the moment you walk into the lobby. The space feels warm and elegant, with a dining area that looks as though it was plucked straight out of Napa Valley, alongside a cozy library and inviting sitting areas that encourage connection and calm. My grandmother moved to The Kensington in 2006 and lived there for a number of years. She had a spacious apartment with a balcony, which made all the difference for her. While she was understandably sad to leave her home, being able to sit outside, listen to the birds, and enjoy fresh air helped her feel grounded and truly at home. Over time, she grew to love life at The Kensington, and our family had tremendous peace of mind knowing she was not only safe—but genuinely happy. More recently, I participated in a virtual memory care training that The Kensington provides for their professional staff and senior care related professionals in the community. The training was incredibly in-depth and thoughtfully done. I walked away with a deeper understanding of what individuals living with dementia experience each day. It also brought back memories of my grandmother and some of the behaviors we saw during the final years of her journey. My initial reaction was sorrow for what she had been living with, but that quickly turned into relief—relief knowing she was surrounded by professionals at The Kensington who truly understood her challenges. The staff are not only highly trained in care, but deeply empathetic, compassionate, and committed to providing dignified, person-centered care. The Kensington at Walnut Creek is a special place—one that combines beauty, expertise, and heart in a way that truly makes a difference for residents and their families.

It’s clear that wellness and joy are built into every corner of the community. I had the pleasure of touring with Athena and her team: Natasha and Cheryl Lynn. When finished, we snuggled down in the resident library with refreshing iced tea, surrounded by shelves of wonderful books and a cozy fire in the hearth.
