Kerner Ridge went above and beyond caring for my mom and our family. Kindness and compassion from facility director, office staff, med techs, CNAs, housekeeping and dining room staff up until the end. There are no perfect facilities but Kerner Ridge was a perfect fit for my mom and our family. Thank you.

We had a bad experience with Nadia Rorie, one of the nurses. She is very rude and not helpful. Please hire nicer nurses!

I have a relative who has been at Kerner Ridge for over a year now. I visit her every week so I've had a chance to experience and observe her life there. The staff is friendly and helpful, and they treat her well. She is very happy there, and that is what counts. I've also brought a couple of minor issues to the attention of the Business Office Manager, Lisa Markland, and she promptly resolved them. One question always pops up...how's the food? The menu offers a lot of variety, good nutrition, and seems to get an overall good rating. When I've eaten there, I've been pleased. I would highly recommend this assisted living facilty for your loved ones.

During the 4 years my mother was at Kerner Ridge we went through 3 Executive Directors, 5 Maintenance Directors and several months without anyone, 3+ Food Service Directors, several Life Enrichment Directors and Coordinators, and a revolving door of Med Techs and Resident Aides. My mother has always been in a wheelchair since in the facility and requires supervised bathroom and dressing/getting ready for bed. There was never any communication or regular evaluations concerning care needs unless I asked for meetings. At each meeting there were verbally agreed upon care changes that were then, never followed through with. I asked for a care plan in writing that I never got. Over the years, there were several falls that I was notified about but could never get any details because “she was found on the floor and didn’t know how long she had been there”. Several times I asked about injuries I observed on her body (one time a black eye and knot on forehead) and they were always a surprise to the staff. I FINALLY decided to install a camera in the room to observe what my mother might be doing that was unsafe and what I saw was eye opening! Care staff that never speaks unless they’re barking orders at her, attitudes like they don’t want to be there, never taking her to the bathroom at wake up and never cleaning her when changing a brief…. it goes on and on. I watched her going into the bathroom by herself everyday and coming out with no pants on because she had wet them. I watched her struggle to stand up from her bed for 3 minutes while the aide stood beside her watching and texting on her phone. My photo is the stack of notes I have taken over the years from meetings, phone calls, emails, daily camera observations, and visits. In addition, I have a file of over 200 photographs of poor care, poor housekeeping and unsafe practices. I have tried several times to speak with Navion with no satisfaction. The prices have gone up every year 6 - 8% and in my recent search for a new facility, I have been told that Navion has “a reputation for being very expensive.” I am happy to say that we have moved my mother to a new facility saving $2000/mo and receiving the care we have been asking for all along and everyone should expect! The difference in friendliness of the staff and interaction with my mother is like night and day. My recommendation to everyone is invest in a room camera and I really hope you will not be as shocked as we were. I do want to give my heartfelt thanks to Kylie, Leti , Charly and Lisa at Kerner Ridge who took great care of my mother (and us), treated her with respect and showed that they truly enjoy what they do.

Choosing an assisted living home for our mom wasn’t easy, but Kerner Ridge made the decision one we feel confident about. From the very beginning, the staff welcomed our family with kindness, compassion , and professionalism that put us immediately at ease. Every team member from the nurses to the support staff, is attentive, respectful and genuinely cares about the well being of each resident. They take the time to get to know each person individually, ensuring that their physical, emotional, and social needs are met with dignity. We are incredibly grateful for everything they do and would highly recommend them to any family looking for a warm, caring, and trustworthy assisted living home.
