I leave my spacious suite, walk across lush flower-filled grounds, enter a gorgeous restaurant and have lunch with a famous playwright, a highly-regarded short story writer (I have him autograph a book he wrote I owned long before meeting him) a screenwriter with a long list of well-known titles in his IMDB, a performance artist who will have an exhibition later in the week at the Getty Museum, a former presidential speechwriter, and a lady whose husband owned one of the world's greatest classic car collections. We dine on prime rib, pistachio-encrusted salmon, asparagus, haricot-verts, Lyonnaise potatoes, a Cobb salad, white, red and rose wine, and choose from a selection of fantastic desserts. Have I just described leaving a bungalow at the Beverly Hills Hotel and having a delicious "power lunch" in the Polo Lounge? No, I am describing a typical midday meal at Kingsley Manor! The only difference between the Beverly Hills Hotel and Kingsley Manor, Kingsley has a friendlier more capable staff ( the ladies in the administration building could run a major corporation, trust me) and more interesting guests. Simply the best!

I recently helped a friend of 62 years move in to Kingsley Manor after a very sour experience at another facility. He is absolutely delighted to be surrounded by so many caring people, it's amenities, activities and the stimulating conversations with his fellow residents. The facility has the feel of resort and the dining experience accentuates that. The administrative staff went above and beyond in facilitating my friend's move. Thank you.......

Kingsley Manor is an almost five-acre compound filled with delight. Its secure perimeter provides a safe haven for residents to enjoy the variety of blooming roses and other flowering plants. The sixth-floor common areas host a movie theater, family room, and large rooms for social gatherings. Spectacular views of the 'Hollywood' sign and Griffith Observatory are enjoyed from the north deck, while the south deck treats viewers to LA's downtown skyscrapers. Originally constructed as a retirement retreat for church members, Kingsley Manor features a chapel equipped with a magnificent pipe organ offering a spiritual and meditative space of renewal. The head chef and dining hall staff offer nutritious menus with several offerings for each meal, augmented by the 'always available' items, where residents enjoy delicious meals while socializing with each other. A wide variety of activities are offered, including exercise classes, educational and craft programs, a community library, outings to parks, museums and cultural events. These are only some of the highlights that distinguish Kingsley Manor as a caring, safe, invigorating senior community.

Kingsley Manor is a gem and I enjoy living here. This is a senior residence like no other you may know of. Traditional brick buildings, beautiful gardens, spacious grounds and an ambiance of Old Hollywood — plus the historic Hollywood sign can be seen from our rooftop terraces. Friendly, caring staff; good food and creative Chef; activities galore - fitness class every day of the week, art appreciation, travelogues, news discussions, cultural celebrations, outings to eateries, stores and museums.

I have lived at Kingsley Manor for three years and I love it here! What is not to like? My little apartment is charming, the food is wonderful, the staff is helpful, and the other residents are terrific. I can honestly say that I have met as many interesting people here in the past three years, as I met in the eighty two years that preceded them. I have made good friends. Kingsley's dynamic staff offers great entertainment and educational programs, field trips to museums and other cultural events, and advice with physical and psychological problems. As I said, what is not to like?
