Excellent care by all the staff. Very compassionate and attentive. My mother-in-law was very comfortable and content for the 20 months she was there.

At first my grandfather hated it. But after practicing tough love we decided to have him stay. He loves it . The staff is great, there is plenty to do. I would highly recommended The Atrium to anyone looking for assisted living for a family member!

So my company schedule me to come sit with a client , 9/1/18 , as I walk in on the start of my shift there's 2 atrium workers sitting outside , this was my first time here so I didnt know which resident was my client nobody was at front desk, the atrium workers outside refuse to get up to help me... after bout 25 mins i found my client sitting in the activity room.... later on that day my client and I sat in the lobby area, 1 lady with gray hair and wore dark blue scrubs looked like she had her hair in dreads was cursing soooo loud , spewing all kinds of inappropriate words there was a lobby full of residents... as another lady walked in for her shift the lady who was spewing the curse words practical yelled at the Caucasian lady in front of everyone at this time she was still spewing curse words .. it was just not professional this is a place of business and a place where elderly residents live... VERY UNACCEPTABLE

The only reason I gave this place one star is because there's nothing lower. My mother stayed there for a brief period and, although she was paying for their highest level of care, she received no care other than being brought her meals and medications. Housekeeping consisted of taking out the trash once in a while. During her short stay (less than 2 months) she had her checkbook stolen and several checks forged and cashed, her Vicodin stolen, and a small amount of cash removed from her desk drawer. At the time she was there they did not have a generator for use during hurricanes. After Isaac they had to evacuate the residents to Baton Rouge until power could be restored. This is not a place for anyone who is confused and/or truly needs assistance. They will be neglected and taken advantage of. The only good thing I can say about it is that it's cheap compared to other assisted living facilities, but you definitely get what you pay for here.

At no point was there a mandatory evacuation, and residents at an assisted living facility are free to come and go with family members as desired. Also, a generator was on site. Once it was established that no electricity would be available for several days, the facility evacuated to a sister facility in Baton Rouge on Friday with no issues whatsoever.
