Personally, not even sure how their rating is where it is. With in 3-4 days of my father being there, he had the worst diaper rash imaginable. When he first got there, they checked everything and made sure he didn’t have that issue. Luckily my mom had been going there and happened to notice it. They, for obvious reasons try and have your loved stay there for as long as possible to receive the proper care. They get paid to give the proper care. To me, nurses don’t care for nothing but probably their Instagram

Lake Balboa is a small facility, so they are able to show extra care to your loved ones. Their PT is also great leading to a faster recovery. And if your family is blessed with nurse Anna just know you’re great hands 🙏🏼 10/10

We are from England did not know what to expect when our Cousin Gerry Lively came from Providence Cedars- Sinai Hospital to Lake Balboa Care Center it was suggested by Dr Malhotra they have a specialist staff who would prepare Gerry to regain his strength and capability to walk again. We have found the medical staff so caring giving Gerry confidence to first begin to get up and got him walking. All the staff are helpful and prepared to listen their patients. Being British we have seen at Lake Bilboa Care Center Thoughtful workable system for their Patients that in Britain is rarely ever seen.

I've been through so much with skilled nursing facilities that just the thought of sending my mother to one gave me really really bad anxiety. In 2023, I lost my father due to the negligence of a facility so b it v. trusting another place with my loved one has not been easy! From the first day I called and made contact with Dani who sits at the front desk and also handless admission and tours my worries started to ease. I called Balboa care center in a panic because my mom was ready for discharge at the hospital and I had did some research and looked into the facilities they recommended and I was horrified at thought of leaving her everyday not knowing if she would be ok after visiting hours were over... I was even very transparent and let her know what happened to my father and she was very apologetic about what happened and yet confident and knowledgeable as she showed me around the facility. She also didn't rush me and answered every question concern and worry. She assured me she would do her part and communicate with hospital to help me get my mom in at Lake Balboa. All of nurses and staff are so hands-on and caring you can tell they genuinely love what they do. One of my mom's favorite nurses is Oscar! She loves him and thinks he's only her nurse lol... what I love most is that every patient feels like that... I am a person who pays very close attention and he started a his shift off asking every patient how they are feeling and if they need anything. He's so patient and gentle with everyone. I personally love all of the nurses! Everyone and I mean EVERYONE greets you with a smile and speaks that energy makes such a difference when you're walking into a place that can usually sometimes feel cold and overwhelming. All of the staff genuinely makes you and your loved one feel very comfortable. My mom is not the easiest person to care for she can be very demanding and bossy at times yet every single nurse and CNA has shown nothing but patience and kindness. She presses the call light constantly and no matter how small or big the request is someone always comes quickly and without making her feel like a burden. That level of attentiveness means everything to me. I come to this place all times of the day and night and the energy never changes, they never ask why I'm there so late, I love not having a restriction on how long or the times I can come visit. I had a concern in her first care plan meeting that I was only addressing as a potential concern and next thing I see is a nurse calling me out to address and deal with the concern before it could even go further I was genuinely surprised and grateful they they heard and acted as quickly as they did. They don't just do their jobs they go above and beyond all of the staff in every department is very patient and understanding and they treat my mother like a person, not just a patient and that gives me peace of mind every single day. After losing my father the way I did I can honestly say this facility has been a blessing. If you are looking for a place where your loved one will be safe, respected, and truly cared for and treated with compassion I would absolutely recommend this facility. Oh and I can't forget to mention "X" the CNA Supervisor and Wound care Nurse (yes he holds multiple roles) who has the warmest coolest funny energy every day when I see him. He also comes in and peeks in on my mom just just say hi and keep her in good spirits and that means the world to me... I've been to quite a few facilities between both of my parents and this place is definitely a small hidden gem if you're in need of short term care and rehabilitation services for your loved one. They won't disappoint I can promise you that! - Neva (Ermas daughter)
