Lakeview Estates

We continue to have instances of things going missing. One item was located and returned. I asked about being reimbursed for an item I had to pay to replace and my request was denied. Update: Lakeview has a new Director who was formerly the Director at Truewood by Merrill in Hoover. The facility is under new local leadership. The Director came from Brookdale in Homewood. The former Director and Sales Coordinator are now at Truewood by Merrill in Hoover.

Lakeview was our first experience with long term care. We didn't know any better and based on our sample of one, we thought they were average. Boy, were we wrong!! Since then we've had experience with a couple of other facilities, and by comparison, they highlight just how wonderful Lakeview is. Their staff is experience and kind. They genuinely cared for my mother. The facility isn't the most beautiful from the outside, but inside -- the parts that actually matter to the residents -- it's nicely decorated, beautifully clean, and the view of the lake is soothing. Camaraderie among the residents is heartwarming. They genuinely care for one another. You don't find that just everywhere. I highly recommend Lakeview Estates.

My Mother was well taken care of at Lakeview Estates and while she has passed away, I will always be grateful for the caring leadership Callie Simmons brought. I appreciated the loving staff - whatever their particular area of responsibility - they carried it out with diligence and compassion. As a family member of a resident I was not only impressed with how well they cared for my mother, but their responsiveness to my questions or needs as well. I would not hesitate to recommend Lakeview Estates.

Everyone at Lakeview Estates has been kind and caring to both my mom and our family. They have helped all of us in the transition over the almost two months my mom has been a resident there. They are supportive, responsive and willing to answer questions. They understand dementia and try to meet Mom's needs by adapting their care as needed. The setting is lovely, the food is good, and they are welcoming whenever we visit.

My mom has been living at Lakeview Estates for nearly 2-1/2 years and we have been very happy with her care. Management has been responsive and helpful. Everyone works to ensure the residents receive the best of care. The building is lovely, the food is good, and there is a wide variety of activities throughout the day. Lakeview Estates also hosts special functions for residents and their families throughout the year. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the high turnover in direct-care staff.
