I did a virtual tour yesterday with my granddaughter having feet on the ground. Liz Smith did a great job of showing us all of the amenities and the apartments that we were interested in. I was very impressed with their gym that the PTs and OTs can use for therapy as well as the residents using on their own. The dining options are also more diverse than any of the other places we’ve toured.

Legacy Oaks of Midlothian is a beautiful facility with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff is truly wonderful—compassionate, attentive, and dedicated to providing excellent care. The residents are well taken care of and it shows in everything they do. Highly recommend!

I have lived at Legacy Oaks for a little over two years and I’m happy to call at home. I call it stress-free living. I live in one of the outside cottages and love the feeling a privacy it gives. I would not call the food here, gourmet food, but it is nutritious and certainly better than what I fixed for myself when I lived alone. I don’t have to shop for the food. I don’t have to cook the food. I don’t have to clean up after I eat the food. And I have yet to find a time when I couldn’t find something on the menu that I liked and wanted. It is the people who live here that make it very special. They are kind, loving and friendly. The staff works very hard to keep us happy and well cared for. I am in independent living. I know this was a wonderful decision for me to move here. There are many activities to participate in. I enjoy playing cards and so I play hand and foot and bridge here.

As a Senior Real Estate Specialist working throughout Ellis County, I’ve had the opportunity to tour and partner with many senior communities but Legacy Oaks of Midlothian continues to stand out as one of the very best. This Civitas Senior Living community offers a full range of Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care all thoughtfully designed and delivered with heart. From the moment you walk through the doors, you can feel that Legacy Oaks is different. The team takes a relationship-first approach with every resident and family. They’re not just guiding you through a move they’re walking with you through a major life transition, with empathy and expertise at every step. Independent Living at Legacy Oaks is perfect for active seniors who want freedom without the hassle of home maintenance. There’s a real sense of community here, with social events, dining, and amenities that support connection and well-being. For those who need a bit more help, Assisted Living is delivered in a respectful and personalized way that honors each resident’s dignity and independence. What really stands out, though, is the Memory Care neighborhood. It’s secure, engaging, and deeply compassionate—designed to support those living with Alzheimer’s or dementia in a way that creates purpose and comfort. I’ve seen firsthand how the staff builds real relationships with residents and families alike. Beyond care levels, what makes Legacy Oaks truly special is the culture. It’s not just a place to live it’s a place to thrive. From morning routines to evening events, there’s joy and intention woven into each day. Whether you’re looking for a vibrant, maintenance-free lifestyle or a safe, supportive environment for a loved one with memory loss, Legacy Oaks of Midlothian is a place I confidently recommend to clients and would feel good about for my own family.

I was so impressed with Legacy Oaks. They spent over an hour with me, learning about my mom and her needs as well as taking me on an in-depth tour. I was surprised to learn that the program director gets to know each resident and works to meet their needs. My mom is really concerned with staying active in the community and the program director would help her find meaningful volunteer work. I was also relieved to find out that should my mom need assisted living at some point, she would be able to maintain her friendships and activities on the independent living side. I could go on and on about the attention to small details that make a difference in honoring the independence, individuality, and dignity of their residents. I write this as a coach, spiritual companion, and holistic healer who works with the needs of human beings every day.
