LITTLE BROOK CARE HOME #2

Care was ok. Staff nice and well meaning. We were not told there would only be one person on staff for most or all of the day during the day. We also learned, even though the owner said they knew all about and were great with dementia, that they were not prepared to deal with my mothers form of aggressive dementia. The final straw, was that after an incident where my mother was very confused and verbally abusive. She was transported to Kaiser ER late on a Sunday night. (An incident that we later learned was caused in part by a UTI.) The owner of Littlebrook illegally refused to take her back at all. Even, as we asked, for a short time while we worked to find a facility better suited to her illness. As a result, my mother spent 3 1/2 days lying on a gurney in Kaiser Morse ER before we could get her moved into a new facility.
