We had a very unsatisfactory experience with The Lodge. From the initial tour of the facility, it seemed very nice. Our 80-year-old family member was not able to return home right away from a skilled nursing facility, so we had to find a short-term alternative while she healed from 2 fractured wrists and a fractured upper arm. We were told there would be ample staffing to help her with her daily needs and transfers since was a fall risk (hence the fractures). The call button that she was given to use was so worn that the inside metal pieces were sticking out of the rubber button area. The call button didn't seem to be working consistently which led to our family member having to take herself to the bathroom one night. One staff member was not familiar as to how to use a gait belt with transfers and another time our family member was left sitting on the toilet waiting for help for over 30 minutes. Our family member also went 3 days without a serious medication because the staff ran out of the medication and didn't notify any family. The Lodge ordered the medication from a different pharmacy than what the family use. Apparently, the medication arrived late on a Friday and there was no RN to check in the medication until Monday. We were under the impression there was a RN on staff 24/7. After being at The Lodge for 2 weeks, it was found that our family member's upper arm fracture had become dislocated, so the orthopedist ordered that she go to a rehabilitation center for further care. When we asked about getting a refund of the last 2 weeks at The Lodge since this was an unexpected change in condition and was required to move because of a doctor's order, we were declined by the admissions person. I have attempted multiple times to contact the manager through email and different phone call messages but have not received a call back from her. Not very good business in my opinion. This all has been a very frustrating experience for an elderly couple that found themselves in an unfortunate situation. I hope other people don't have to have this kind of experience.

We had to move my 94 year old mother in February of this year because the assisted living where she had been for four years decided they could no longer care for her, ridiculous as it was. It is so hard to get a loved one into any facility in the Coeur d' Alene area, but we were fortunate to get into The Lodge at Fairway. They are friendly, easily accessible and work well with mom's hospice caregivers. Also, it is "significantly" much better than her prior facility. As with any care giving situation, you must be on top of it. I am there pretty much every day and my brother calls daily and is there a couple of days per week. Overall, I would recommend this facility as the current administration seems to also be on top things.

I recently helped a family with finding the best assisted living care for their mother. They chose The Lodge and have been very happy with the care their mother is receiving. I stopped in to see her a couple of weeks after she moved to The Lodge and she looked so good. She shared with me how good the food is how nice and caring everyone has been to her. Becky and the entire Lodge staff have been wonderful to work with!

A loving friend of mine was admitted here. The entire situation has been heartbreaking. There is very little effort from the staff to help and assist her do things, and very little interaction. Aside from the necessary assistance, there is no attempt from caregivers to engage themselves with her. Many of The caregivers behave in a manner where what they’re doing is just an inconvenient chore, rather than out of care for the person. The actual care itself seems to be lazy and incompetent. She’s lifted and transferred in a lazy manner by multiple caregivers, and she’s actually been dropped once already resulting in a bruise (which will be addressed by other friends to the proper agency). There is a lack of expediency when it comes to issues within the room and with care. Examples include a toilet running issue that took multiple days to address and they still haven’t tended to other things like her television box. After many months, she still isn’t able to flip through channels and watch the shows she likes. We are talking about a basic amenity here!! There have been multiple times to address problems with her call button, and when it is Working, it can take help an excessive amount of time to get there. When going to the bathroom, she is left on the toilet alone to the point where her bottom starts to hurt, and she has to call out saying she’s done. I could list more examples, but you get the idea. Bottomline, she seems to be treated like an inconvenience who they are required to put up with. That’s the main feeling I come away with in all of this, and the one big point I want to stress in this review. It really is heartbreaking seeing my friend reside at this place.

Finding the "right place" for dad was daunting. There's a lot being offered in our area and weeding through them was a challenge. After meeting with Linda Davis, my brothers and I were quite satisfied with the Lodge and what it had to offer. Linda gave us a lot of useful information and was able to dispel a lot of the negative talk that we'd been hearing; not just of the Lodge, but of the industry as a whole, even after some quite point blank questions that she openly answered. Dad is now well situated in a very comfortable room that overlooks the central courtyard with its bubbling fountain and raised planter boxes. Whenever we come by to visit, the place smells so good with its home-style cooking, the staff is always friendly and helpful and the overall ambiance is so comfortable! Dad is very happy to be here and that is a huge comfort for us.
