I left my mother at Maile Aloha and I regret it. She was not cared for well and passed a month and 12 days after staying there. To add pain to misery they still have not refunded the more than $3,000 owed for the month I paid. Beware!!

I was looking for a temporary place for my sister. Maile Aloha is quiet, clean and additionally is nicely located in a quiet Cairemont neighborhood. The staff seems quite attentive and experienced. A good fit for me and my sister.

My dad has been here for a while. He is a military veteran, who grew up in the Depression. Needless to say, he's very structured and not easily pleased. He LOVES it here. They've taken to calling him "Grandpa J.". A short while ago, his health took a bad turn (he has Alzhiemers and dementia). I felt the doctors didn't have much hope of him getting better. His physical restrictions effected his mind as well. Maile Aloha took him back knowing that he would be a challenge. Fast forward a couple of months and he's back to his old self. He is extremely happy with their care. We couldn't be happier with the care and compassion that he's received. It's like home to him and us. This is the first place that I would recommend to friends and family.

I could not imagine having my grandmother in any other place than Maile Aloha after having met Jo and the rest of the staff. A couple of years ago, when we were searching for a place to care for my grandmother I was so close to reaching an agreement with one of those corporate facilities and I'm so glad that my social service person told me about Maile Aloha. Since then, my grandmother has had the absolute best care and I am at ease with all the updates and pictures and reminders that I receive regarding her care. It's so nice to know that this family and staff are the caretakers of my grandmother and can offer her a truly professional care plus the warmth and compassion that might not always be present in other settings. The COVID pandemic has been tough on care facilities all over the country /world, but I feel good knowing that Maile Aloha has taken the necessary steps to ensure the safety of the residents.

My mother was diagnosed with probable Alzheimers way back in 2008. When we could no longer care for her in her own home I went searching for Board & Cares. After visiting over 17 here in San Diego County I moved her into Maile Aloha on May 1st 2019. During the Covid Pandemic they have gone above and beyond to keep all their residents safe from this horrible disease and the staff have been so accommodating and wonderful during this very stressful time for everyone but especially to the most vulnerable among us. My family and I feel truly blessed to have found them.
