Such a wonderful place to have my husband reside here during his recovery. The staff is exceptional, kind hearted and experienced in their duties. There are daily activities which keep the residents engaged along with visiting professionals in the arts that perform or lead an art project. The meals are great that include all of the daily requirements for each meal to be healthy and enjoyable. All reside have a lanyard and if anyone needs assistance, one push of the button and a staff member will be there to aid assistance. Also the staff visits each resident regularly each day not including the giving of medications. In order to have such a smooth running assistant living environment, a positive, supportive, caring, capable director is needed and that is what Malta House has. When I visit , everyone that I see speaks in a kind way and makes you feel welcome. I am so happy that I chose Malta House Assisted Living.

My sisters and I searched for over a year before we decided Malta House was the option for our mother. It is a small (only 32 residents) facility and a short drive from my home. We had multiple interviews with Ms. Elizabeth Orchard as well as a tour of the facility and an opportunity for my mother to visit and experience the activities before she moved. My mother moved into Malta House in January 2020 and the pandemic struck in March. During the confinement, my mother has been safe and well cared for by the staff at Malta House. As the CDC and State guidelines evolved, the staff provided updated information. While ensuring residents safety and wellness, Malta House allowed us limited access to our mother which prevented us from feeling cut off from her and her from feeling isolated. The staff are professional, caring and compassionate. Activities for residents are limited at this time because of the pandemic, but I hope that will be changing soon. The resident’s rooms and community areas are well maintained. My mother enjoys the food which is served in one of two small dining room. I would recommend Malta House for anyone looking for a small facility to care for their loved one.

What I admire so much at Malta House is the careful attention to details. The facility sparkles, and there is a changing array of attractive flowers and decorations year-round. I was awed by the director's and staff's fierce dedication to bringing everyone through the pandemic safely. Malta House is a happy place where residents enjoy their meals, participate gladly in the many enrichment activities, and cheerfully greet visitors, even, maybe especially, those of us whom they don't know. I am grateful every day that my loved one has a home at Malta House.

My mother became a Malta House resident at the age of 93 and remained there until her death a year and a half later. My mother was widowed in her mid-fifties and lived alone in the home I grew up in until entering the Malta House. As with most seniors who live independently for a long time, this change was not something my mother wanted or accepted easily. The Malta House staff was aware of this situation. They made every effort to make the transition a positive experience, which it was. The facility is small and, as a result, the staff is able to know each individual resident -- their personalities, likes and dislikes. In fact, they are encouraged to do so by those in charge. The Malta House has an excellent variety of activities and does a wonderful job with holiday celebrations. I do not what to give the impression that it was always smooth sailing. However, when there was an issue, it was addressed promptly, efficiently and most importantly in a caring manner. To this day, friends and relatives express how impressed they were with the Malta House and tell me it was the perfect place my mother. I could not agree more and give it my highest recommendation.
