My father and I had a great experience with Maurice House, which was suggested to us by my father’s hospice nurse. The facility is very clean, bright, and cheerful, and all of the staff members that I interacted with were friendly, helpful, and responsive. The other residents that I spoke with seemed happy and content there. My father’s apartment was well maintained and had a nice view of the back lawn and woods. My father was very hesitant to leave his home of 40+ years, however, after just a couple of days at Maurice House he realized it was the right move at that point in his life and was happy for all of the assistance that was provided to him there. I’m very thankful that he was able to spend the end of his life at Maurice House and would not hesitate to recommend the facility to others.

Staff is awesome but Food still needs to improve. Often cold or under cooked . Invest in a better chef and get a better menu for your residents.

This was all before Juniper took over, so hopefully these issues have been dealt with. - Once, near the end of my mom’s stay. I asked about the meds that she was given, and was told that they could not disclose. She had dementia and I was her medical POA. - I was told that I could not stay with her overnight even though she was in hospice there and she passed days later. Alone. - The food was not very good, and I’ve been told that it has gotten worse. - Some of the staff seemed to have issues with sharing medical info with the company that was providing my mom’s hospice while she was near the end of her life at MH. - I initially loved the place, but it turns out that behind the scenes, some of the caretakers were very mean.

Not impressed with the care my family member had at this place. The person was well into their 90s and very shy. They would not bother any of the staff for anything. Because it was during pandemic I was told they had to stay in their room at all times. Of course the Maurice House denied they said any such thing even though if was confirmed by my sibling. Visiting was done at the window of their room which was very confusing to my family member. The Maurice House was paid enough each month for the staff to at least check on them periodically and make sure they got up and moved around and received enough fluids throughout the day. Because the staff did not encourage them to drink a lot of fluids it caused them to go into severe dehydration. Also, the staff was not aware of how sick they really were until it had gone into full double pneumonia which eventually caused their death. Maurice House fee is very expensive considering the lack of care that was given to my family member. I would never reccomend this place to anyone.
