I would give this facility 0 stars if I could. The staff members here are very nice, but the owner is cold hearted and money hungry. My grandmother lived here, and she recently passed away. She had an emotional support animal, and when she was in the hospital, before we knew it would be serious enough to lead to her death, the owner said we had get her ESA out before the end of the day, we weren’t even given 24 hour notice. Luckily, a staff member was able to take the animal so we didn’t have to leave him at a pound. She said it was because the animal gave my grandma E. Coli. We asked the doctor if the animal could have given it to her and he said no, it can be caused by contaminated food or water though. When we told her the animal couldn’t have caused it she changed her reasoning, and said we should be grateful that a staff member took the pet. My mother also lives at the facility, and she is treated like a prisoner, she’s not allowed to leave the facility to spend the night with me and her grandchildren because then the owner won’t get paid for that day and will lose money. And my mother isn’t allowed out in the yard. She now wants a 24 hour notice before me and the grandchildren visit. There is so many more problems here, for the other residents as well as they are understaffed and the staff members they do have are overworked. Every time I’ve been here there is only one person except at shift change and only having one person here isn’t enough to give ALL the residents the proper care they need. They don’t provide proper food for special diets like diabetic diets, or after surgery. the owner has made the passing of my grandmother much more difficult for me and my mother than it needed to be, as well as my mothers daily life in general. I wouldn’t recommend anyone let their loved ones live here, and in my opinion this facility should be shut down.

My sister was here for 3 weeks. Most of the staff was very nice, but they had one person that scared her, I'm not sure what she did to her. She can't hold a fork and wasn't given a very good diet, no one should live on chicken nuggets and grilled cheese. When asking the woman who scared my sister if she could have some broccoli that everyone else had, she abruptly said she can only have finger food and there was no extra broccoli and turned her back to me. She scared me too. Other than the individual who should find a new career, it was sufficient for a short stay.

My mother in law recently moved to Mayberry Manor. The facility is beautiful and the staff are friendly and do an excellent job. It really is a unique assisted living due to it seeming like a regular home. I would highly recommend for someone else searching for assisted living for a family member or friend.
