To the organization i appreciate what yall do . Unfortunately me and a friend today of mine were kicked out today fishing . We were fishing around the pavilion and was told we were on private property . Theres nothing wrong with that and i totally understand, it's just I wish the guy would Have went about it a different way And there not being signs anywhere posted saying its tresspassing , we really had no idea . We just wanted to fish and catch and release. If the owner sees this maybe I can get direct permission from you . Would definetly appreciate it , me and my buddy work alot and barely get to go but its nice to have a place to get your line wet every now and then , thank you

Highfields is a small non-profit organization that does big stuff! As a donor, I believe in their mission. Changing lives and strengthening communities is what they do, and they do it very well. Thank you to the lovely people who work there.

When I was there in the mid-70s I ran away frequently. One time after Chow I took off through the field and a lot of staff were waiting for me they popped up out of the weeds everywhere. They grabbed me and took me to an empty cabin and a dozen grown men proceeded to beat me to within an inch of my life they stripped me of all my clothes and kept me locked up in a room black and blue for at least a month. One day I was left alone with a staff member this guy had a small arm and a normal arm and I beat him fiercely with a pool to and ran out the back and made my escape through the swamp. I knew if they caught me they would kill me. I was found by a State trooper just outside of Lansing walking down he asked me if I was okay as I still had mostly green skin and bloodshot eyes and he could tell that I had taken a severe beating I do not know whatever happened after that I was sent to a place in Flint and then sent to w.j. Maxi so it's really I have a one-star rating for this place those people there tried to kill me they beat me so bad it was horrible thanks camp highfields for all the wonderful memories

I am a graduate of camp Highfields. I was in El-dawg house from 1992-1994 and I was adopted by my dad from there. I had allot of mixed emotions about Camp Highfields and I was a troubled kid but this place has always been on my mind over the years and today I looked it up to see if it was still around... Wow, the memories. The ski trips, the four levels, basketball and baseball tournaments, just everything. The staff, Mama Watts, just everything and everybody. The things I learned from there and the skills I acquired being there from working, the green house and wood shop class. I'll NEVER forget that place as long as I live. I caused ALLOT of trouble there in my first year, was always running away, you name it... But they NEVER GAVE UP ON ME! Today I have a family, own a business and don't get into trouble anymore and live in Texas. I was 12 when I got there, I'm 42 now. I still miss that place, some of the staff, just growing up there with all the canoe trips, camping trips, shopping at Value City trying to fit in with everyone😂🤣😂 I'll NEVER forget this place and what they did for me. Thank you for everything Camp Highfields!!!
