I’m in independent living: It’s a very old and tired facility. Food is sporadically decent, But the service at meals is very mediocre. The Ground floor bathrooms are dirty and need remodeling. Security is almost nonexistent. The front desk seems preoccupied and uncaring. There are sufficient activities for the residents, which is probably the best part of living here. The Building is being remodeled, but management company seems more interested in the remodeling than the residents living in the facility.

My experience at Mease life The overall building and community at Mease Life are great — it’s clean, well-maintained, and has a nice atmosphere. Unfortunately, the dining room and kitchen are a completely different story. The management there treats servers however they want, even when the servers are being respectful and doing their jobs. There’s a lot of favoritism, gossip, and unprofessional behavior from managers who act more like high schoolers spreading rumors than leaders. On top of that, there’s one particular server who is very disrespectful and makes the work environment even worse. It’s a shame, because the place itself has potential, but the dining and kitchen management ruin the experience.

We moved from a single family home in Dunedin to a 1200 sq ft gorgeous apartment on the 9th floor at Mease Life. Our apartment faces east, so we get the morning sun; we're up at the top floor so can see clouds, tree tops and lights far away in the evening. It was so easy to get acquainted and involved here. Many many interesting, challenging, fun activities -- from wine tasting to group excursions to Dunedin Arts Center and area thrift shops! Food is varied and delicious. The weekend buffets are a special treat. Very very happy here as is my husband. EVERYONE is incredibly friendly, so it was easy to feel 'at home' in just a short amount of time. Housekeeping every week is a real plus (and maintenance) -- staff all very responsive and kind. LOVE Mease Life!

My 92-year-old mother recently resided at Mease Arcadia assisted living. She moved in August 4th. Over the course of 4 months communication was exceptionally poor, specialty referrals cardiology neurology were only half made, the director of nursing minimized everything incredibly rude. She offered to make referral appointments if I stopped talking. Executive director also rude unprofessional blew off my concerns. Kept saying this has been discussed let's move on. Main issue, on Nov 4th the doctor prescribed 2 new medications, on Nov 9th I asked mom how they were going, she said she never got them. I went to nurse station and the nurse on duty was unaware of any new medications. She opened a folder and there they were. I took picture. She called pharmacy and they were never called in. Nurse director said she would look into it and a week later I ran into her, she told me they had new staff, and they were giving mom the new meds just from someone else's bottle? Moms primary care suggested I ask to see the medication administration records to see if mom actually got the new medications and I was denied. Four hours later same day my mom received 45 days' notice to leave from Exec director. I told all of this to her Doctor who is medical director at Mease. He told me "Good luck at the new facility" Other issues included mom having a slip and fall after during hurricane Milton and Nurse director minimized it by writing they were only aware of mom cutting her finger. Her own nurses left me a voice mail of the slip and fall. Two days later I had to take mom to ER as she was feeling foggy. Fortunately, she only suffered a concussion not a brain bleed. Primairy care was only notified of fall by my text. No sympathy concern from Mease staff or management they only did another cognitive test on mom Lastly during Nov cold snap, I called Friday Nov 22 in morning to see that mom had her heat turned on. I kept checking throughout the day. I finally called and got a hold of nurse director 4:30 pm, was told the furnace was dead, and so old no parts available, it would take weeks to replace. We were offered respite or I could bring space heaters. I didn't want to move my mom into dreary respite specially with holidays, so I brought space heaters. I had just had surgery that week. After a week we gave up temperature in room in the 60s and moved her to the respite. The experience was awful. After one day I brought her back home Apparently Mease does not do Fall maintenance on furnaces but waits until things fail. One of the nurses said most of the furnaces there are in about the same condition. If you have a loved one at Mease please check on them. I pray for those who don't Sincerely concerned family member.

Mease Life housed our facility for storm Helene. Every Mease staff member was super accommodating and helpful to Westminster residents and staff. Staff were provided rest areas to sleep. Mease arranged the beautiful dining room for our residents to dine. Thank you for such lovely hospitality. The building is top notch and the occupants looked very happy living here. Nurse Lexi
