I cannot say enough wonderful things about Layton Terrace and the incredible experience my mother has had there over the past four years in the independent living section. From day one, it has truly felt like a vibrant, welcoming community rather than just a residence. There is always something happening — engaging daytime activities, social gatherings, creative workshops, games, and evening entertainment. My mother has built meaningful friendships and stays active and involved every single day. It gives our family so much peace of mind knowing she has such a full, enriching lifestyle. The staff and leadership team consistently go above and beyond. The director and care team have worked closely with our family to understand my mother’s individual needs and preferences. They communicate openly, listen thoughtfully, and respond with compassion and professionalism. It’s clear they genuinely care about every resident as a person, not just a number. The community itself is warm, clean, and beautifully maintained. There is a strong sense of dignity, respect, and independence, while also offering support when needed. As we begin to think about my mother eventually transitioning into memory care down the road, I feel completely confident that she is in the right place. The continuum of care available gives our family tremendous reassurance that she will be supported every step of the way. Most importantly, my mother is happy. She feels safe, valued, and connected — and that means everything to us. I wholeheartedly recommend Layton Terrace to anyone looking for a caring, engaging, and trustworthy community for their loved one. It has been a true blessing for our family. - Randy

After looking at several senior living facilities in the area for our parents, we decided on Layton Terrace. All things considered, it seemed like Layton Terrace was the best fit for them. They moved in November of 2024. The first few months were a challenge in a few areas. Being a very present advocate for our parents, it became clear that the majority of the issues seemed to be not so much with the day to day care takers but rather at a mid to upper management level. Less than a year ago the Executive Director was replaced. Following that change, other key positions on that staff have been either replaced or improved significantly. Any concerns or requests that I have had recently have been addressed by the management staff in a very timely fashion. Understanding that most all senior living locations have challenges in some form, I feel that Layton Terrace was the right choice for our parents and I am confident that management is working diligently to to make Layton Terrace a nice place to live.

How can anyone get a hold of HR??? If anyone knows please send my way. According to the receptionist "Christina" there is no HR. What kind of business has no HR Dept?! She indicated that Matthew Fischer was HR, not accurate he was the former Executive Director. The 1-800 number that this place presents is a recorded line, no human picks up the phone. Very unprofessional. I will be filing a complaint with the Labor Dept. today! It goes to show you that these reviews are accurate when its rated a one star.

DO NOT move your loved one here, and if your loved one lives here—move them out IMMEDIATELY! My Mother lived in Memory Care the past 9 months, and she was not being taken care of. I spoke to the director several times, he ensured us changes were in the works, and to come to him with any further issues. When I came to him with more serious issues—there was no response to emails or phone calls. His excuse when we were face-to-face was that he has been overwhelmed trying to fix all of the issues. My Mom is unable to communicate, and not able to know when mealtime is, or when activities are starting. Same with most of the residents! We suspected our mother wasn’t being taken out to the dining room for meals, so we installed cameras – – and we were correct. She was not being taken out for meals, and food was not being brought into her room. She wasn’t dressed most days, groomed, or showered, and her teeth were rarely brushed. Her laundry was always behind, and nearly all of her clothes came up missing . We had to buy an entire wardrobe to replace the missing clothes. Many times we would come in and she would be soiled through her clothes into the couch. She would be in the same clothes for days. We had to call the manager of the staff each time meals came around to let her know that our mother hadn’t been brought out for meals yet. We paid $35 to have the carpet shampooed a couple times, and they didn’t bother to move furniture, or even tiny rugs to clean the floor properly. My Sister and I were the only ones that cleaned our Mom’s room. We moved her out, but we are SERIOUSLY concerned for the other residents in Memory Care. If they are on camera and still not doing their jobs, what does that say about Layton Terrace? We also lost nearly $100,000 towards the 2 year timeframe of paying rent to be able to apply for Medicaid by moving our Mom out of there early. There are aides that have gone to the managers/director with issues—only to be ignored. They have even seen pictures of how some of the residents were neglected, and they ignored the pictures because staff are not allowed to take pictures of the residents. Sinceri needs to inspect Layton Terrace immediately, and address these issues! This is an add on to my initial review: Matthew Fischer just gave Layton Terrace a 5 star review 2 weeks ago—he is the Director there that doesn’t respond to family members with serious concerns! Also, I called the phone number the “owner” referred me to in response to this review 4/4/2025, and as of today 4/11/2025 NO RESPONSE! Apparently, they do not take these allegations seriously! The residents’ dignity is definitely not a concern for Layton Terrace staff or management; however, not feeding them is death!

New management is not good. My folks lived there for about 8-10 years and each year the rent went up (independent part) which is normal. Then the new ownership took over, raised rent again and added in a clause that if more than 1 person in any apartment (this was a 2 bedroom apartment) there would be a $500 additional charge for the spouse or second person on top of raise in rent. The manager verbally said he would waive that for the year and revisit the next year. The manager was either replaced or left and the new manager at contract time said you owe 5K and if you do not pay it I will take you to court. They paid it (I would have went to court) knocking down their savings they had. Mind you these are an unhealthy 89 year old and 87 year old wife. So after that, it was time to get out. Putting a lot of stress on elderly people to move and leave friends they have made over the number of years. So instead of working with people that have always paid on time for 10 years they get threatened to go to court and forced to move. As many others have said the food is ok, service (they try) but very understaffed but that is normal for this industry to be honest. The apartment is fine, well maintained, maintenance is good. So for the facility I would give it a 3 star. I would not recommend because of the cold hearted management. I am blown away that they did not work with them and took a hard stance but that is business. I understand it was a verbal but many of the residents fell into the same situation and also decided to leave. I seriously have thought about have a television station do a report on this place. I would recommend looking at the contract very carefully and understand you are paying very high rent for not a lot of amenities and expect increases each year without any better service. Had they not threatened to go to court and honored the past managers verbal agreement things may have been different. so be careful when exploring this place they really do not care about your loved ones.
