MERRILL GARDENS AT CAROLINA PARK

My parents have lived at Merrill Gardens since November 2025, and I have nothing but good things to say about the community. From the very beginning, they welcomed my parents with open arms and made the transition feel smooth and comfortable for our entire family. The staff has been warm, attentive, and genuinely caring, creating an environment where residents truly feel at home. The community is well run, the atmosphere is positive, and it’s clear that the team puts a lot of thought and effort into making sure residents are happy and engaged. I also want to give special recognition to Ricky Flynn, their sales associate who helped guide us through the process. Ricky was knowledgeable, patient, and incredibly supportive from start to finish. He took the time to answer all of our questions, made sure we understood every step, and truly cared about helping our family find the right place for my parents. It’s such a relief to know my parents are living in a community where they feel comfortable, supported, and part of something special. I would highly recommend Merrill Gardens to anyone looking for a welcoming and well-managed senior living community.

My mother has lived at Merrill Gardens for about 2 1/2 years. One of the aspects that makes Merrill Gardens unique is that they have one and two bedroom apartments where aging couples can stay together, ever if one of them needs more assistance. Many facilities cannot accommodate two people comfortably when one needs assisted living services. My mother and father moved into Merrill together when this was an issue. They were able to comfortably live in a two-bedroom apartment and get the individualized services they both needed. The most important thing to them was to stay together and we were able to make that happen, thanks to Merrill Gardens. My father has since passed away and my mother initially down-sized to one-bedroom apartment, and recently moved into a studio apartment at Merrill. The staff was extremely helpful in making these transitions happen easily. Some of the things my mother has liked best about Merrill are the modern, comfortable apartments, clean and well-cared for common areas and the friendly and attentive staff. People who work there seem to get to know who the residents are, and because the facility is not overly large, there is a nice sense of community. My mother has utilized the morning exercise classes, in-house beauty salon, and she likes to go to the afternoon travel movies and documentaries shown in the theater. The management and staff of Merrill try their best to work with residents and families to allow loved ones to age safely, actively and gracefully. I am grateful to everyone at Merrill Gardens who helps care for my mother, and many others, on a daily basis.

WOW! Visiting family @ Merrill Gardens was an amazing experience. To see family members strolling along with each other and watching the faculty interact with the residents gave us all peace of mind. The good “vibes” I felt on my first visit continue on to this day. I’ve been at Merrill Gardens for 2 weeks. The staff are super friendly and efficient . There are plenty of activities to choose from. The property is quiet and peaceful. The meals are excellent . Most days I have skip the humongous desserts. My family member has been a resident at Merrill Gardens for a little over a month. We now sleep easier knowing that she is safe, taking medicines correctly, and eating full meals as she likes throughout the day. After a transition period, she is settling in and making friends. She smiles and is getting involved. Mom loves the pool and the aerobics classes. Every day people introduce themselves to Mom and ask her about herself. They are so friendly. We love the staff members in every department. In our experience, the administration told us everything and held nothing back. They didn't build anything up and then not deliver. That part, alone, has been a relief. They told us what they can and cannot do for our loved one, so we came in with realistic expectations that have been met and exceeded. The honesty is what really sold us on Merrill Gardens at the beginning. The staff communicate with us regularly via text, phone, email and in person. And also, they take initiative to do what is best for Mom. It is a happy place with activity everywhere if residents choose to participate.
