MERRY HEART ASSISTED LIVING, LLC (NJ14A002)

As a visitor, it's always been easy to visit a loved one. The staff has always been professional and helpful. My son visited on several occasions to play the piano which was a good experience for him and hopefully the residents enjoyed it.

As a performing musician, i play guitar and sing for both the Assisted Living and Senior Care residences. Merry Heart is a clean and inviting facility. The staff are attentive and caring with the residents. Meals are personalized based on each resident’s need and there is a dietician on site. There are daily activities planned for all levels of care to engage community members in art, physical and cognitive areas to promote social interaction. My husband was a long time resident in long term care there and our family was happy with the care he received. I have had the opportunity to perform musically for the three Merry Heart facilities over the last six months, and I would strongly recommend them for anyone considering long-term care for themselves or for a loved one. Although I’m a physician by profession, I was able to evaluate the residents from a different standpoint with an hour of songs and interpersonal interaction. They are well cared for and in good spirits. The staff is very attentive and each of the three buildings Is clean and organized. I have visited other nursing homes in Northern New Jersey with this musical review,and I find Merry Heart to be among the best. Ms. Nicole Dunster, the activities director, is superb in her role in helping the residents to get the most enjoyment out of every day, despite the physical and psychological challenges they must deal with as senior citizens. I feel certain Merry Heart should be at the top of the list or anyone looking for a long-term care facility for their loved ones.

We are performing as Entertainers in Merry Heart Nursing and Assisted Living Facilities for a Decade and we’ve been impressed by wonderful Staff, who are treating Residents like members of their Family in both Facilities. Very warm and caring Atmosphere! Highly recommend for all Seniors who are looking for beautiful Interiors and professional caring Staff.

I highly recommend Merry Heart Assisted Living to anyone looking for quality assisted care for their loved one. My mother could be a very difficult person to deal with but all of the staff at Merry Heart treated her with kindness and respect, even at her most difficult moments, and there were quite a few of them! Mom's health was regularly monitored and any changes were relayed to me. Whenever I got upset about something with my mother, the staff was there to support me, as well. They understand the difficult dynamics of trying to care for your loved one while still attending to your own life. The facility is kept very clean and the seasonal/holiday decorations are constantly changing to add a bright and cheery atmosphere to the building. Even the exterior of the building has seasonal changes of flowers and shrubs that are well cared for and an enclosed garden patio with a waterfall feature that is relaxing to sit by on sunny days. According to my mother, the food was very good, too, and she did not give out compliments lightly. There were daily activities that she could join in on when she wanted or skip if she wasn't in the mood. There were themed parties and musicians that came to play for the residents. They even have hair stylists that come in once a week! I thoroughly researched assisted living facilities in northern NJ for my mother and I can definitively say that Merry Heart is the place for your loved one if you want peace of mind. I am so happy we chose them!
