My father for the past 3 plus years was a resident in assisted living and memory care at Sunrise of East Brunswick. During that time he had numerous falls and issues of wanting to move on. Whenever there was a behavior problem and/or fall Sunrise has a policy to call an ambulance. Their model was to call an ambulance…13 times in all. Fortunately my father never broke any bones but did require stitches twice. The last incident was back in late February 2025. My father fell no injuries but the night shift had instructions to call an ambulance. My father ended up in St Peter’s for 12 days after being misdiagnosed with a pneumonia. Both St Peter’s and Sunrise would only release my father if I arranged for 24/7 care back at Sunrise in their memory care unit. Financially this was not going to work. On Feb 24 my father returned to Sunrise with 24/7 care. On the 25th I met John the director at Millennium, on the 26th had a second interview and signed the papers. On the 28th my father was in the care of Esther and her caregiver team. Thanks to the social worker at St Peter’s for highly recommending Millennium at Matawan. Millennium knew how to care for my father and his dementia. Their model was just the opposite of Sunrise. Not sending him to the hospital as a first resort, only as a last resort. The merry walker gave my father mobility and significantly reduced the chance of falling. Yes, he ended up in the hospital one time for a fall that required stitches but I was able to sleep at night. Millennium didn’t complain about my father’s behavior, they dealt with it. My father spent 5 plus months at Millennium after passing away in early August. He would have been 102 years old come this October. I’ve never looked back at the decision to make to move to Millennium at Matawan. A+. BTW - my father had a Cochlear ear implant another issue Millennium was able to deal with. The Cochlear was constantly being lost at Sunrise.

During the most difficult time in our families life, we brought my Grandmother to Millennium Memory Care in Matawan. John the Director showed us the time and kindness we were desperately seeking, but didn’t find with other facilities. We were constantly treated as just another number and patients and this was the first place we found where our family was treated with the utmost thought and care. The staff are amazing. The relief we feel in finding this forever home for my grandmother is indescribable. She’s a difficult case and no other memory care would accept her but Millenium told us not to worry about a thing that she was in the best of hands and she truly is. Thank you Millenium! Can’t stress enough that if you are looking for a memory care facility for your loved one look no further.

My dad was a resident at this facility. He had very serious behavioral issues and was “Kicked Out” of 5 other facilities before we found Millennium Memory Care! The staff are Angels! They are patient and give my dad the attention he needs. His behaviors have decreased tremendously since his admission over a year ago. Thank you to John the nurse and Esther the manager!!

This post is for my mother, Patricia. I wanted to share my appreciation of your wonderful staff at Millennium Matawan and the care they provide for my husband Bill, who has been there for close to six months. The staff is extremely attentive to his needs, goes above and beyond and spends a lot of time with him. They get him up and walking and encourage him to participate in activities like getting outside to play ball or joining a sing-along including his favorite songs from the 1950s. The staff is always calm, smiling and positive, especially Natasha and Prianna. Since we aren't able to spend as much time in person with Bill, the staff is always accommodating by setting up video calls for us and they respond to me quickly regarding any concerns or questions I may have. I highly recommend your facility.

Recently we had to make a very hard choice to place our sister in a memory care facility. Millennium in Matawan came highly recommended and we can honestly say we have not been disappointed. Juliana and Judith take excellent care of our sister Phyllis. They are always helpful and informative as to how she is doing. They seem to have made her feel comfortable and welcome in their care. It is a great relief that when we visit her they get her to say goodbye without her being upset. We want to thank them for being there and helping us be able to deal with this difficult situation. Sincerely, Juliet, Geri & Joanne
