It is great. A group house is not a home unless it's a group home. I get along with everyone and there are delicious meals everyday.

Where people go to feel uncomfortable forever. The staff aren't appreciated. They're belittled by senior authority figures with a power hunger for control & dominance. They need to clean house, adopt fresh perspectives, treat the residents with care & quality assurance should be duly practiced by anyone you care for in their care. They look great, they really do... they're not. There's no growth, its stale, its that comfortable quick sand that looks away from challenges. Its lacking a motivational leadership that's consistently influencing, contributing towards the benefit of the people living there & conscious about them being there for that help; its not standardized one method fixes all. They judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree. I couldn't watch it & that's exactly why I'm in the field. I treat everyone how I'd want to be treated or the person I love most in the world. They need help not to be judged, held to differentiating expectations depending on what side of the week or what team of staff is on at a time. You see this often, but this place took the cake for fooling you until you see it with your own eyes. Either the residents were crying, hiding or the staff were; also not allowed to be sick. One small man commands a team, he suffers with little man syndrome. He enjoys degrading, shaming & publicly humiliating the residents & the staff.. the money is good. The thought is good but quality assurance consistency would humble the people who do actually care and show it. Like Dan Paul. But Jill Allen, dehumanized her own child in the 'trainings'.. She doesn't know how to not talk about her sad life, it made me sad for her but not after she told me she abandoned her own son who 'suffers' with intellectual disabilities.... 20 years is too long to be stuck in place. Ask anyone who's done it... save them, save the residents & save the great thing you have going. Make the change you wish to see in the world. Teri the HR lady is with them too, petty stuff that makes you wonder how sad is their life to hurt others blindly? No stars. Its a team that says yes even if they're screaming no inside. If you call out they question exactly what, why and ask for a doctors note. Mental health days for staff is not appropriate reasoning.. yep.. coming from an agency that "supports" ... please change!
