I would NEVER recommend this facility for Assisted Living or Skilled Care. While some of the aides and other employees can be kind, that is definitely not the case with RNs and staff. They do not follow through on promised care, get defensive when you ask questions for the benefit of your loved one, and lack compassion in their roles. They tell you all the things you want to hear up front, but that’s nothing but “false advertising.” If you want your loved one to receive quality care and partner with you in their care plan, do right by your loved one and find a different facility.

I would love to give a shout out to all the amazing staff at Milner Community Health-Care. I recently needed their services due to an accident at my home. After leaving the hospital I had a decision to make regarding where I would like to go for my rehab and physical therapy. From the moment I arrived at this wonderful facility I knew I had made the right choice. I have received excellent top notch care. The amazing professional staff includes every department!!!! Everyone has been very attentive to my needs. They are absolutely outstanding and very compassionate .I'm so glad I chose them!!

I put my mother in Milner’s back in April of this year due to her spreading cancer and me being afraid I would hurt her, trying to lift her by myself. She went in on Hospice. (Gaurdian Angel Hospice highly recommend them also) I have never had experience with a nursing facility and I was worried about my mother in there. We had a couple hiccups the first week, but it was more on my mother side than anyone else’s . Just like any place you will have a glitch every now and then but if you talk to them, it gets worked out they have worked very well with our hospice service I couldn’t Ask for a better bunch of nurses and CNA’s. They truly do care about their patience and not just their patience their patience families also I’m kept in the loop at all times if I call, they will go down and check on her if I have any worries and if they went and checked on her just recently, they will tell me how she is doing. When I’ve tried calling her phone and it either doesn’t ring or she doesn’t answer. They will go down and let her know I’m trying to call and make sure I get to talk to her. I tried to visit every day or every other day and when I walk in the door, I’m always greeted at the front door by the lady at the desk and the nurses will always tell me how Mom’s doing before I head to her room like I said I couldn’t ask For better people to look after my mom while I can’t . They have a very nice dining room with a sunroom and they also have activities in that same room across. They have a very beautiful With a fireplace, but let’s go back to the unit units. They have areas across from the nurses stations with coffee maker In juice machine so that the patients can have coffee or juice For them, they all have small tables with chairs so that the patients can eat down there in the smaller room if they don’t want to eat in the dining room room or their bedroom . My mother is now starting her final journey and I’m glad they are there to care for her when I am not there. It gives me great peace of mind.If you have any doubts, go check the place out talk to the nurses and if you see family members talk to the family members of the patients and you’re more than welcome to contact me I will vouch and I’m a pretty fierce person to deal with, and it says a lot When I Give praise to a facility or a person . P.S. I have seen the negative post on here. I know for a fact, two of them our same family who stirred the pot, then regretted stirring the pot, tried to back out of it, and only made things worse for themselves and got what they deserved but not best for family member . The other one I would like to point out the rooms do not come with TVs if you want your family member to have a TV then you supply the TV. She came in on a weekend so it’s a little hard to get somebody books there when your activity director is not there ,library doesn’t come but every two weeks so why didn’t you supply your family member with books or a TV? The next thing is is they cannot have a walker until They have been checked out by physical therapy to make sure that they can use a walker. I bet you didn’t get that memo Neither another thing I have never seen a dirty bed there ,my mom has been there since April. My mother passed away yesterday never seen a dirty bed. I’ve never seen them have issues transferring people from beds to wheelchairs or to stretchers or the numerous other things that they need help with Sounds to me like you might even not even visited or was there just a few hours and then left and didn’t take the initiative of being an advocate for your own parent so that makes you an epic fail, not the Nursing Home because I’ll tell you right now the nurses and staff go above and beyond so don’t blame them for your shortcoming nor your lack of understanding abt being your parents advocate and once again never seen a dirty bed, sheets or anything on anyone and I know the housekeeping are very meticulous so step back take a deep breath And realize that you just said that your parent was not capable of making decision but yet you don’t have POA .

My mom was transported to this facility at 7pm from St. Vincent in Indy last night. Surgeon expressed he wanted 2 weeks in rehab since 73 yrs old with proximal tib fib fx (broke both bones in lower leg, closer to knee than ankle) with ORIF (surgery to install plates that keep bones together) and would be non weight bearing 8 weeks. She was put in a dirty bed, they refused to charge her phone or let her borrow a simple type C charger so she was unable to call ME and inform me of the poor conditions/treatment. She had no TV no books no phone. They didnt have a seated walker for her, and according to mom they didn't "know how" to move her anyway. They then allowed her to leave AMA without notifying her next of kin or the orthopod or anyone at the transferring hospital. They only saw fit to inform me 1 hour after she had left that she was gone. If anyone reading this knows the insurance approval process for inpatient rehab, you understand NOW that she is out of a care facility, we will likely battle insurance and lose the case to get inpatient rehab covered. I would absolutely NOT trust them with your loved ones, unless you are good with facility putting your loved one in a dirty bed, with nothing to do but stare at walls (no TV no books), with no way to call anyone that could advocate for them, not possessing the skillset to move them into chair or bathroom, and allowing them to discharge AMA (against medical advice) without calling you or the referring doctor or surgeon. If those above mentioned don't alarm you, I'm sure it's fine. Landscaping is nice anyway.

I’ve had several family members cared for at Milner Community Healthcare, and my experience has been nothing short of amazing. The nursing staff is truly top-notch—compassionate, professional, and attentive. The administrative team has also been outstanding, always communicating clearly and going above and beyond to support families. Every department contributes to the warm and welcoming environment. From the kitchen staff to environmental services, laundry, maintenance, and the activities team, I’ve consistently had positive interactions. The facility itself is always clean and has a pleasant, fresh scent, which speaks volumes about the attention to detail and care provided. When I walk in to visit my grandmother, I know she is in good hands. The residents are clearly well cared for, and it brings me great comfort and peace of mind. I can’t fully express in words the deep appreciation I have for Milner’s and the exceptional care they have provided to my loved ones.
