My wonderful mom spent the last 5 months of her life at Royal Care Assisted Living and if I ever have to go into an assisted living facility, this is where I would want to be!!! The owner, Laura was there almost everyday talking to her residents and assisting her staff in caring for her “extended family”!!! Because Laura was so hands on, she knew every patient on a personal level and was extremely good at communicating with my wife and I. This is not a corporate assisted care facility but is family owned and operated. First of all, the facility is amazing!!! It’s an absolutely beautiful home that sits in between a few of the mountain ranges in the north west valley . The home is located in an upscale residential neighborhood with gorgeous views from the front of the house to the back yard, while providing multi levels of service and care. All of the meals are cooked by a wonderful caring staff, and their food was 1st class and absolutely delicious!!! We moved mom to Royal Care from another assisted care facility when she was 94 years old. Mom struggled eating the food there and was under weight because she just picked at her food. When we would show up, her hair was dirty, her clothes were dirty and it was quite apparent that their residents were treated like a number. When we moved mom to Royal Care, the facility was immaculate and had a very warm upscale vibe that was very friendly and inviting. Upon mom’s arrival, she stopped picking at her food and was eating all of her entire meals plus dessert! She was able to gain about 15lbs, going from 95lbs to 110. When it was meal time she always had a big smile on her face! The entire staff treated her like she was family and was always very caring and nurturing. There are a great deal of assisted living places in Arizona. If you find yourself with a loved one that needs to go into an assisted living facility, do yourself a favor and take a tour of Royal Care Assisted Living.
