My first interaction with Mountain Park Memory Care, was with Tara. I chatted with Tara a few times, over the phone, as we were searching for a memory care facility. My husband and I met with Tara in person to tour the facility, along with our family member(now a resident of Mountain Park). We found Tara to be very knowledgeable and compassionate. She patiently and thoroughly answered all of our questions....and we had a lot! As we were deciding on a facility, I reached out to Tara several times with more questions. She always got back to me promptly with detailed answers. Thank you Tara! We appreciated your experience, patience, and genuine interest in our family during the move in process!!

For the most part, everything has been going as expected with moving my mom into Mountain Park Memory Care a month ago, but there have been issues. The issues arise from my mother being assisted by Medicaid which means she cannot have a room of her own. So in sharing a room, she moved in first and since her memory has progressed to a place of not knowing what things are hers, I only moved in essential items (bedding, some clothing, needed toiletries, a couple of shoes, a couple of coats, and her favorite stuffed animal). Her roommate came in and brought more things than needed and things are always moving into my mom's space. I won't say more about that and I do believe my concerns are being heard, however I am still waiting for more to be done to try to stop the repetition so I can feel more at ease knowing my mom's space is being cared for the way she would like it to be if she did not have Alzheimer's. As for the employees: everyone has been very pleasant and accommodating to us as far as I am aware. Communication with staff and patient care is above and beyond. Cleanliness: The messiest area I have seen would be my mom's roommate's side of the room or when her things carry over to mom's half of the room. I feel like the facility has their hands full with the roommate. Other than that, everywhere looks and smells clean and tidy. Mom is warm and happy here. She has her issues with her memory, so she does give the staff some problems, but I believe they are handling her well and that they do their best keeping her comfortable. I have control issues in taking care of people I am responsible for and am slowly releasing control to Mountain Park Memory Care staff, so I appreciate them for their understanding and their attention to my emails and texts. Full transparency: my mom lived next door to me before moving in to this facility. We live in the country on a busy road. Every winter, if the roads became icy, I had to worry about power outages (cars hitting PGE poles) which would lead to issues not needed to be discussed here. Winter of 2021, Feb 2021, we had eleven days of no power (with the except of our generators)... Just know, I do not have those worries now and that is a huge load off my mind. Thank you to everyone at Mountain Park Memory Care, truly.

Of all the memory care facilities I had to choose from, Mountain Park Memory Care in Clackamas, Oregon is by far the best place to place my 99 year old mother with dementia. My mother has been a resident there for about 2 years now. This facility has always provided her with a caring, safe and very clean environment. The facility is broken down to five small neighborhoods which makes for an extreemly low staff to residents ratio. They do not mass warehouse residents like other facilities. I have always found the staff to be professional, compassionate and trustworthy. They are easy to work with in crafting a unique safe individualized plan based on safety, compassion and respect for each resident. Even the support staff that deals with all the myriad of problems like navigating through various insurances i.e., Medicare and Medicaid are taken care of. I have always found the staff to be professional in dealing with each resident's individualized medical care issues like perscriptions, doctor on-site/ off-site visits etcetras. The staff reacts quickly to any medical emergencies and are very perceptive in identifying and reacting to any possible changes in any medical, behavior and cognitive issues when they arrise. In summary, I completely trust this facility and staff in caring for my mother.
