I was at the annual Christmas Party at Mountbatten House on Friday afternoon, Dec 15 2023 and met virtually every resident and some of their families. They said how great the Manager and Assistant Manager are, how kind the staff is, as well as the food! One recent resident said she came very underweight with instructions from her doctor to put on some weight. She did! We had delicious food at the party and lovely gifts were distributed.

My mother-in-law was at Mountbatten for several months before she passed. The whole staff was simply amazing with the care and love they showed her and our family. The house felt like a real home and not just a facility for the elderly. I highly recommend Mountbatten.

My Grandmother was a resident there for years. Not one time have I ever seen nor heard any employee be rude to or disrespectful to any resident. Prior to Covid I volunteered there many times and never witnessed anything other than their residents being treated with love and respect. My Grandmother loved it there. I would highly recommend considering Mountbatten House for the placement of your loved one.

Mountbatten House is a very unique assisted living facility that provides temporary and long-term care for men and women who need special assistance due to their specific individual needs. The facility much more closely resembles a cozy home than a facility and is nothing at all like a typical institution, though the personnel are appropriately trained and licensed. The home is very clean and the decor of the residents' rooms strongly reflect their individual personalities and tastes. Families are encouraged to bring residents' cherished possessions for them to keep in their rooms to really make it their own personal space. For example, the person I knew there loved to sew and kept her sewing machine, fabric and other supplies in her room, among her other favorite items. The decor of the facility itself consists of all things British, and includes photos, paintings, and items once owned by members of the Royal Family. There was even a few of the late Princess Diana's effects displayed! I don't know if they're still there, but they were when I was regularly visiting the person I knew who lived there. All of it was an amazing sight as well as educational. The staff were exceptional and genuinely formed a bond with those they cared for as if they were members of their own family. There were lots of games, books and directed activities to keep residents' minds engaged and stimulated, as well as opportunities for day trips to places outside the home. At times, groups of schoolchildren also visited the home to spend time with them and sing or do craft activities with them. There's a wonderful rose garden with a path and shade trees for the residents to enjoy at will, though they're kept safe and secure at all times under the watchful eyes of the staff. The home is supported by the Daughters of the British Empire, who raise funds to subsidize the rents of those who lack the means to cover the full amount of their rent. Private contributions also support the home as do memorial gifts willed to the facility. It is truly a one of a kind place. I would feel completely at ease if any of my family or even I needed that level of care someday.

I have been a routine visitor to MH for the past 12 years although I do not have anyone family members living there. The facility is extremely cozy, clean and the staff is always so friendly. They take good care of the residents that live there.
