MT. VERNON GARDENS

My family member has been a resident at Mt. Vernon Gardens since January 2024, and the care he has received has been nothing short of exceptional. The staff provides whole-food meals made with real, high-quality ingredients, and the beautiful grounds create a peaceful and welcoming environment. Communication is excellent, and they truly care for the whole person—body, mind, and spirit. Even hospital personnel have commented on how remarkable his skin and overall hygiene are, saying it’s unlike anything they’ve seen from other facilities. This level of care speaks volumes about the dedication and compassion of the entire team. We are so grateful for the nurturing environment they provide. Highly recommended!

My father had dementia and was a resident at the beautiful Mount Vernon Gardens, and sadly, recently passed away. I am so grateful, beyond words, for the amazing staff at Mount Vernon where the owner's philosophy is that "residents thrive on routine," and she was right! After moving my dad several times from other facilities for lack of care, I finally found Mount Vernon, and my father ultimately received the exceptional care he deserved. Meals are home-cooked, delicious and nourishing. The facility is spotless and beautiful-like a quaint bed & breakfast, the caregivers always have a warm smile and they all become one big "family". The residents are given the time and respect so merited during these vulnerable years of their lives. Thank you Mount Vernon staff for providing my father with a safe environment enveloped with nurturing kindness and an abundance of patience.

My mother-in-law was at Mount Vernon Gardens for the last few years of her life, and she received excellent care there. The staff there were responsible, kind and caring, and my mother-in-law was treated with warmth and attention. The small number of residents and the home-like setting were a wonderful match for my mother-in-law’s needs. Mount Vernon Gardens was originally a private family home, and it still looks and feels like a home. Residents have home-cooked meals prepared by onsite staff every day. There are beautiful gardens in the back and on the side of the house. Residents can go out on the deck and enjoy the peaceful setting and the views. Onsite owner Emilce Deller is very competent, experienced and kind. She has a degree in elder care services, and many years of experience in the field. She has created a welcoming environment with a great balance of responsible care, detailed attention to residents’ medical status and needs, and a warm environment with home-cooked meals and a friendly atmosphere. My experience of Mount Vernon Gardens and Emilce Deller’s management of the site was overwhelmingly positive.

My mother lived the last 3 years of her life at Mt Vernon Gardens until her death at age 95. I can't say enough good things about her experience there, or of my own and that of my other family members when visiting Mom and interacting with the respectful, caring, and dedicated staff. Emilce Dellar, the onsite owner, was especially great to work with. She has an advanced degree in elder care services and brought a knowledgeable, compassionate, and flexible approach to all of our dealings with her. Mom had a lot of medical issues requiring skilled and attentive care, which was provided in a consistently friendly, caring, and careful manner. During the last months of Mom's life Mt Vernon provided hospice care in partnership with the visiting hospice nurses, including being there in a very skilled way as Mom was unexpectedly passing in the middle of the night. Finally, my family and I are very grateful that we were able to rest in the confidence that our mother was receiving such good care in the last years of her life. Bob Poole Sebastopol, CA

I have a total of 14 years experience with this facility; 7 with my Dad and another 7 and counting with my Mom. I can’t say enough good about it. It’s clean, friendly, serves nutritious foods and my parents have constantly raved about the kind, skilled atmosphere. Emilce , the owner, has served many years in the geriatric community. This place is truly a wonderful facility and our family is blessed to trust our loved ones in it’s care. Mount Vernon Gardens is an extension of our family.
