I highly recommend this facility . My mother has been here for over a year and they have provided her the personal care she has needed. All the staff, including the director and activities director are “hands on” when it comes to the resident’s care. The team of providers are continuously improving and providing the best care possible . I always appreciate them reaching out to our family and keeping us up to date with my mother’s needs. She has adjusted to her new home and as a family we are very appreciative of all they do.

Placing your loved ones in the care of others is a big step and takes a leap of faith that they will provide a great environment and experience for your family member and all residents. Thankfully there is Newhaven in San Angelo. I give them excellent reviews overall. The building provides a home like feel and it is very small which gives residents lots of attention. The staff is really what makes this place a winner. They are always very friendly, caring and ready to assist with any needs. They work very hard. I observe them moving and going at all times, making sure the residents are comfortable and safe. Tessa, the Director, is amazing. She listens and then she gets things done. I can take a huge list of questions to her and she addresses them and will often offer to go above and beyond with assistance for concerns like doctors visits, medications, personal needs, etc. My Mother’s room is beautiful and seems more like an upscale hotel room. the bathroom is huge and has ample storage. With all the horror stories told about senior living facilities I feel very fortunate that my Mother is now at Newhaven. I highly recommend it!

I would have agreed with many of these comments posted a few months ago. But not now. New Haven has changed so much. They were having problems with quality of food, keeping staff, activities training etc. A huge change has been made over the last few months. Several employees were let go including the administrator due to previous mentioned complaints. My father has lived in the memory care unit for almost a year now and I would not recommend any other place. The new administrator that has been brought in is top notch. She has several years of nursing experience, more knowledge and compassion than any human being I have ever met. She has a constant smile on her face even when it's obvious she is dealing with several crisis' at one time as all known Assisted Living facilities can deal with on a day to day basis. I have called her after hours regarding health concerns expected with end stage dementia and she is quick to answer always leaving me with comfort and peace at the end of conversation. The wellness nurse and house manager are always available and as well very knowledgeable of what is going on. The two new cooks are very inviting, food is exceptional, very clean environment. I am quite pleased that most staff that were let go are no longer here. It definitely shows! I would recommend this facility to any and all that are looking for a quiet like home environment. Kuddos to the new administrator for turning this place around.

It is such a home and family atmosphere at New Haven. Mom loves the food. They have an excellent chef in the kitchen. The staff is always good to ask me if I would like to join mother for lunch or supper and I do take them up on this at times. I have to say that the food is delicious! It always smells so good when they are cooking. It's just like being at home. I must also say it is a big help to have access to a wheelchair accessible van for transportation to doctors appointments for mom. This is something that New Haven has needed for a long time and I am impressed this has been implemented. New Haven is small and comfortable. It is a place where your loved one can feel at home and like part of the family.

I am very pleased with the changes at New Haven (formerly Bee Hive)! I have been coming here for over 3 years, once a week to visit with and minister to the beautiful residents. A few months ago, there was a change of administration, which has proven to be a breath of fresh air. She has made much needed staffing changes by adding mature caregivers, increased the number of staff and changed chefs. From what I have observed, she runs a tight ship. Recently, my mother needed assisted living, specifically for dementia. We have chosen New Haven and are quite pleased! The activities have kept her engaged and social. If you get a chance, get in on a game of corn hole, mini golf, bingo or bowling. The activity director is energetic and engaging. My mom loves the food. The staff invites us to dine with her as often as we can. I LOVE the Chicken Parmesan, personally. It seems like there are always cookies baking. We find the new staff and new administrator to be attentive, knowledgeable and compassionate. New Haven is proof that change IS good! You will not be disappointed!
