They take wonderful care of my mother in law. Such a caring facility.

My mom has been in the memory care center for a year now and she is doing very well. Before she wasn’t engaged with others and didn’t want to do any activities until she moved here. The staff is wonderful and Liz and Lynn make the activities fun for the residents. This was the best decision I made when we moved my mom into Traditions (Main) of Saginaw.

My mother resided there for a year and a half before passing away. She enjoyed the place and the staff. I would have given Traditions a higher rating except for the (lack of) care she rec'd in her last days of life, which started on a weekend. She died shortly after. From calls, contacts with staff, and family visits, it appears that Traditions was understaffed that weekend. The family who visited found the staffing levels to be problematic at multiple times. I don’t blame direct care staff who were likely doing the best they could with the number of people needing assistance. The corporate owners are responsible for ensuring quality care (especially for what they charge). Return on investment is too often taking precedence over quality of care as more places like Traditions are bought up as money-making operations.

My mother has been here for 5 years, West campus, assisted living. The food was very good at first, but now is just okay, sometimes so bad it goes uneaten. They are too quick to give excuses and apologies, yet things seem to not change. I hired someone to come deep clean my mom's apartment as it's only been haphazardly cleaned at best. (June did consent to clean mom's carpet recently, the first time since she moved in...) The photos speak for themselves. Her dresser has more than a week's worth of dust on it, and her apartment is supposedly cleaned weekly. They say they won't move a resident's things, so they only "dust" around them. The refrigerator was on top of a LOT of dirt. Mom says she doesn't want to move because she has friends here. I do believe she is cared for and is safe at New Hope. SHAME ON YOU!, New Hope management. Pay your workers more and you will not have staff shortages. Pay your shareholders less and give the residents the dignity and quality of service you proclaim to respect. Instead you raise the rates and diminish the quality of service. Train your employees to do a proper cleaning, and once a year do a deep cleaning of every apartment. That's the least you should do.

My parents were previous residents of New Hope Valley Independent in Saginaw and I am posting this in hopes to help other families to not experience what our family went through. The Independent living services were fairly consistent however the trouble began when we needed to add assisted living support. High staffing turnover equals lack of proper training and poor resident assistance, specifically med management, housekeeping and overall lack of resident care. The management response was not supportive and there was no accountability which eventually led us to leave.
