Awesome place for someone kinda struggling with "the darkness". Super chill and low key place to relax and get better. Small and cozy with super awesome staff that make you feel welcome and comfortable

Ok first and foremost I thought 💭 that I was in a bad place in my mind but soon as I arrived at North Shore Center and let me tell you that Teresa and her staff members made me feel soo comfortable and welcome it was unreal they made me feel like I was a long lost family member.. it was so calming.. I couldn't have felt more comfortable in my life in such a strange place felt like home . Allyse, Jacki, Teresa, have helped me in so many ways with my mental situation and I couldn't have had more of a chance to stay with them longer but they helped with my mental health issues that I was cleared two weeks early

I was recently inpatient at the Alpena hospital twice, the second time they told me they could not help me and sent me to North Shores. Upon arrival, I met Teresa, Dani and Carrie. They were very happy with how knowledgeable I am with my mental health and expressed how happy they were. On several occasions Carrie sat down and just let me talk and listened and often offered advice. The whole team here is truly amazing and I felt that my needs were met. The only problem I had was that I have very sensitive skin, had my clothes washed and started a new medication and we weren't sure what started the rash I developed and we rewashed my clothes with baking soda and vinegar to help neutralize the detergent and stopped the medication at the same time so we were unsure of what actually caused the rash. I saw Maggie for medication reviews and she was very honest and listened when I said I was not ready to go home and needed a few more days to recover. While I was here I also met Celeste, Amanda, Elise and Candy all just as wonderful as the first three staff mentioned. If I ever need help with my mental health again, I would go here before Pointe East any time.

Most in-house staff was unprofessional and rude. Becky was awesome. Doctor Trista would prescribe or say she was going to prescribe something and then not, or tell the in house staff something completely different than what we talked about during our video appointment. It was so anxiety triggering. And when I asked for my PRNs they would get all flustered and asked me why and get too personal and make my life hell. We would get yelled at for laughing too loud, or for standing up for ourselves. Seemed like they really just wanted to see our spirits crushed. They were always in the office with the door closed and never checked on us. They had their own little clique. But, that being said, rooms were nice and clean and beds were comfy. Foods and snacks were good And the other patients/people living there were AWESOME. We all got along so well we all became our own little family and just did group and healed ourselves. Shout out to Nor-Sho Gang! (Inside joke ppl)

Cool staff, good doctor. Realistic relationship between staff, Doctor, and patients. Nobody was uptight or "fake nice". Really good environment for actual healing and assessment. Way better than a hospital setting.
