This place is terrible, I wouldn’t take my dying dog here. The smell of urine in the hallways, disgusting stained carpets though out the hallways. The nursing staff doesn’t seem to understand how to take care of the elderly and vets, you need to have some tact and patience with helping these people, always rude and impatient with the people they are there looking out for? I spoke with E J Lewis manager of the facility about these issues but I have yet to hear back from them about my concerns. I left my email and phone with Casey at the front desk several times as well as messages on there personal voice mail, it’s been over two months with out a single response.

My two recent visits to this community have been excellent. I was immediately impressed by the professional and attentive staff, as well as the genuine, caring interactions I witnessed among the residents. I met Andre, the Head Chef, who was very engaging and prepared truly amazing food. It was delicious; the quality is the highest I've seen in a long time. I also observed Karen, the Activities Director, who was actively involved in creating quality experiences for the residents. She spoke with everyone respectfully, demonstrating a wonderful demeanor that was never condescending. The property is clean, and the staff is top-notch. A great experience!

Extremely unprofessional and uptight staff that treats their residents and the elderly like prisoners. You will have better treatment and service at a level 4 high security prison compared to this uninhabitable nightmare where the staff members/employees have more concern for their low-income job position than the actual health and wellbeing of the elders they are supposed to be representing and caring for. Stay away from this self-righteous hollow establishment at all costs or else be subject to harassment and discrimination regardless of any background. The staff members mistreat their residents/patients due to their own self-inflated ego power trips of themselves and take it out on the elder folk in retaliation for their own lack of self-identity/creativity. This place is a prison that does not provide proper mental and physical health care to the community, and instead brings angry judgmental vibes that create a hostile work environment to the staff and the residents.

It was time for my mother to be in an assistant living place as per her medical doctor recommendation. I searched many places for the right place for mom. Brookdale in Clairemont was a place that my brother and I felt that mom could call home. Its always hard for a senior citizen to make a change and when we moved mom into Brookdale Clairemont she was greeted by the staff and in her room was a basket of welcome gifts for her. She loved that and the staff came in several times in the day to introduce themselves to her and asked her if she needed anything. She loved going to the dining room for her meals and she made a best friend right away. One thing about this facility, there was always fun things to do on a daily basis. Mom enjoyed the field trips and the arts & crafts. On holiday's the facility always went all out to decorate for the occasion and had special guest come to play music and all the residents could enjoy happy hour together or a fun ice cream social. I also enjoyed the entertainment with mom too. Families are always welcomed to visit. Mom was able to visit with her family on any given day. The staff was always so nice, helpful and when anything was going on with mom the staff always called us to update us about moms care. I am so thankful for Brookdale Clairemont, and all that have taken care of my mom. Brookdale will always have a special place in mine and my families hearts

I can’t say enough good things about Brookdale Clairemont. We moved my mother (102 years old) there two months ago after living on her own and it has been a fantastic experience in every way. All of the staff members are extraordinarily kind and helpful and go out of their way to take care of her. They are patient, responsive, and look after many details, including picking out a cute outfit for her to wear every day. The residents are very friendly and have made a point of saying hi to my mom and calling her by name even though she doesn’t see or hear well. My mother is delighted to be there and keeps saying she is living in luxury. The dining staff is amazing, providing wonderful meals and special treats. The housekeeping and laundry services are excellent and do a beautiful job. I absolutely would recommend Brookdale Clairemont to anyone.
