My parents moved into Fairhaven in March 2022. They were very excited to start a new chapter in their life, as they were moving into Independent living. They were moving to Fairhaven with the intention of engaging in the many activities that Fairhaven had to offer, and to cut down on the home responsibilities that were getting to be too much for my parents, especially my mom. They also knew that it was very likely that my dad would eventually need assisted living within a few years, and this was a way to assure that they would always be together. Three days before their move my mom was very unexpectedly diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. My mom had been my dad’s caretaker for years, and she was always so healthy, so their lives were literally turned upside down. My siblings and I were scrambling and panicking, as we were trying to figure out what our next move was. I called Fairhaven the next day and told them about our mom’s diagnosis, and they were immediately ready to help in anyway that they could. They set up home healthcare for our mom, which started two days after they moved in. They stayed in contact with me, and they assured me that they would be there to help us in any way. They held true to their word. Sadly, we lost our mom four months later. As mentioned earlier, our mom was our dad’s caretaker, and soon after they moved into Fairhaven our dad fractured his kneecap and was moved into skilled nursing temporarily, as our mom could not care for him, while she was going through cancer treatment. Long story short, our mom ended up on Hospice at Fairhaven, and they both had rooms side-by-side in their skilled nursing facility. The staff at Fairhaven quickly became a huge part of our family, as they took care of our parents. My dad’s health continued to decline, as his body became weaker, and his heart was shattered. The staff at Fairhaven loved him, and they did whatever possible to help him, both mentally and physically. Sadly, eight months later our dad lost his will to fight, and he passed away. Again, the support that we received was phenomenal. When I say the staff at Fairhaven supported us, I don’t just mean the nursing staff. The food service staff took great care of all of us, housekeeping, maintenance, transportation drivers, beauty salon, etc. My mom spent two months in Independent Living, and she never got to experience all of the activities that she had looked forward to. However, whenever she was asked how she liked Fairhaven, her response was, “I love it!” She truly did love it. She loved the people at Fairhaven, both the staff and the few residents who she met during the short time she was there. So, while this year was by far the most difficult year of life for myself and my siblings; I do strongly believe that Fairhaven did all they possibly could to not only help our parents, but they were also there for us every step of the way. The staff at Fairhaven who took care of our parents will always hold a special place in our hearts.

My father recently moved from independent living to assisted living, and the move couldn't have been easier. Staff moved some of his clothes and other necessary items, and family moved the rest over the next 3 weeks. Staff has been more than kind, accommodating and very friendly. No request has been turned down. We, and he, are very fortunate to have Fairhaven in our family.

My grandparents were treated extremely well here, from the time they had their own apartment to when they had to live in assisted living. The staff is incredibly compassionate and deserve more recognition for all that they do. There were always activities for every level of ability and group trips they could sign up for. We were even allowed to install a few bird feeders outside my grandmother's room!! They really want to make their residents lives as whole as possible. The food was really good too! Guests are welcome in any of the dining areas - my favorite was the dinner buffets and the cafe pizza. There are endless food options and really nice servers. My parents joke that they already have their apartment picked out for themselves when it's their time and I can't blame them - Fairhaven is a really nice place to live!!

I cannot express my thanks enough to the phenomenal people at Fairhaven. They're kind, loving, efficient and are extremely supportive to the people they're caring for, both the patient and their family. Food was delicious. Private Suite was very nice and comfortable. I wouldn't even consider taking a loved one anywhere else.

My parents lived at Fairhaven and they loved it. Their "cottage", really a one-storey townhouse, was light, airy and had a pretty view. The residents welcomed them warmly when they moved in, not knowing another soul, and they quickly became part of the community. They enjoyed excellent musical performances, a thriving community of artists and an excellent real library. The nature trails were a big attraction for them, too. Even the food was good. It's really not a nursing home, it is a continuing care community, so residents typically go when they are pretty much independent and then are able to age in place, as they need assisted living and skilled nursing.
