DO NOT SEND YOUR FAMILY HERE AS OF 2026. Their facilities have deteriorated and staff members have repeatedly misleading, evasive, and downright lied. My most recent conversation included them stating there are “too many projects and not enough money for maintenance” when I spoke with them on a recorded line. And they are suppose to be responsible for the vulnerable population?? Edit to reply: 2/24/2026 - your blanket response is disingenuous and untruthful as yet another action of poor ethics by oakmont and connected parties. This has been brought to the attention of numerous employees including the director - Sean, Maintenance manager Mason, front desk associate Carrie and various employees at the corporate office located in Irvine. This had been reported as a violation to the city of San Diego and confirmation of this violation was done by Sean on a recorded phone call. Hundreds of documented contacts have been made to Oakmont in regards to this singular issue. It continues to be ignored and neglected, which is my assumption they provide their tenants - POOR, EVASIVE, AND UNTRUTHFUL. I’m Reaffirming due to their fraudulent reply - AVOID AT ALL COST!

I love this facility! The staff is amazing and takes great care of not only my grandpa but every single person there. You can just feel safe knowing that they are in great hands once they step inside :)

There are 2 locations I cannot speak for this one but the one closest to the library is understaffed and some residents are abused and not handled properly the owner continues to cut staff to maximize on profits sometimes only 1 caregiver is around for the main floor and the same follows with another wing. Lastly for the most serious cases they're not being rehabilitated activities are made for doddlers they never go outside and are told no

After several falls at home, it was time to move Mom (age 94) to a care facility. I did an extensive search and took tours of several communities. I chose Oakmont for Mom and I'm very happy I did. Their leadership are accessible and responsive to my many questions. Caregivers Thelma, Martha and many others, led by nurse Michelle, take great care of Mom. Nurses and med techs Shabnam and Jo watch Mom carefully. Activities staff Yesenia and Cyd went above-and-beyond to bring Mom out of her shell and into the community. She's enjoying bingo, karaoke and happy hour. I'm with Mom every day at lunch time to sample the food - it's excellent, thanks to Chef Amy and her team. If you'd like to talk to a family member, I'm happy to share my experiences. Ask the front desk. Moms quality of life is outstanding and I'm so relieved that she is getting such great care.

It has now been a year since my mom moved into Oakmont. When she made the decision in December 2022 to leave her home of 47 years in Huntington Beach it was a total surprise to me, but she made the decision to no longer manage 1600+ square feet of living space all by herself. When she moved in two months later, she received excellent care by the staff. Cyd was her "onboarding buddy" and he came by once a day to see how she was doing and eventually took her to some of the events as her "wing-man", introducing her to other residents and to other staff members. The care staff doted on her as she gradually adjusted. My mom has actually improved her physical fitness since she moved to Oakmont. They have an in-house Physical Therapist and you can also have your own PT come in if that is what your insurance requires. There are exercise classes at 10 am Monday through Saturday that help everyone stay fit. And I know the care staff is focused on keeping my mom safe since I get a call whenever anything has happened to her, such as a fall - though we are blessed that so far this has not included anything serious! She has a very active social life in Oakmont. Musicians come in for special events and holidays throughout the year, there are in-house activities during the day, shopping trips, outings to restaurants and museums. The residents meet regularly as a group to discuss any issues first among themselves and to gather feedback for the staff. They also have regular meetings with the chef to talk about what is working and what is not so well. I couldn't be happier that my mom is in Oakmont.
