Olney Assisted Living LLC

We are very happy that we found Olney Memory Care for our father. The caregivers are wonderful and seem to enjoy what they do and are dedicated to the residents. Lena, Kiki and Rosamond are just a few of the caregivers that our dad has looking out for him and who our family appreciates. The kitchen staff serve a variety of foods and remembers our dad's dietary restrictions, providing alternatives when necessary (call-out to Danny and Josh). The doctor/nursing staff are very good at communicating and responding when we have questions and concerns, and we are glad to know they are there 24/7. The woman (Sunny?) who cuts hair and gives manicures looks out for our dad when it's time for his - all residents seem to enjoy their time being pampered when she's there. Pam is fantastic and enthusiastic when leading the activities, though our dad likes to watch more than participate. The maintenance staff keep the place looking, smelling and feeling nice. Everyone is friendly and kind. We appreciate that there is an outdoor, fenced-in area for walking that has flowers and shrubbery and places to sit in the sun or shade. Our dad has been here for almost a year and we are happy with the care he is getting here.

I am thankful that OAL has such kind, innovative, dedicated staff as Zach Bolton, and Pam Barrett in the Life Enrichment Program. It makes such a difference in the life of the residents and my mother especially. The activities program really stimulates her physically and mentally with the arts & crafts and educational activities. They treat each resident as if they are the only one and special. We are going into mom Daisy's second year in OAL now. Grateful to all the staff who provide service seamlessly.

My Mom recently passed but was a resident at Olney Assisted Living for over 5 years and during that time received excellent care. I would give this facility very high marks in regard to resident care, communication, and transparency. The facility director does an amazing job of keeping families updated on operational changes and the entire nursing staff (both Registered Nurses and Nursing Assistants) always kept me well informed about any changes in Mom’s condition. Dementia/Alzheimer’s is a difficult disease process and having to move a loved one out of their home and into a place that is “not home” is a hard thing to do. But Olney Assisted Living is special. The facility is smaller and you won’t find a fancy chandelier or someone playing the piano in the lobby but what you will find is an AMAZING staff who genuinely has a passion and a calling to care for people.

I always appreciate Olney Assisted Living for their creativity working with their residents and families. As dementia is unique to the individual, so is the approach from staff and care partners. They provide a wealth of educational seminars, along with partnering among senior service providers to provide better services to seniors in Olney and Montgomery County at large. Olney Assisted Living is also an active partner in various philanthropic endeavors, and regularly partners with state and local associations to better the community.

If you take away nothing else from my review, Olney Assisted Living is the place you’ve been searching for that will treat you and your loved one with a respect and compassion far superior to anywhere my mom ever lived before. When you visit, you will see the staff treat each other and the residents like family. I never felt I had to make sure they were properly caring for my mom- it was clear they were providing great care and truly just wanted her to be happy. I wish I had found this place much earlier. I had no idea a place like this existed from the Executive Director, Carrie, who makes herself available at any time, to the amazing nursing staff, wonderful activities staff and dedicated caretakers. Olney Assisted Living knows this population and how to best care for them. I just can’t sing their praises high enough.
