After much research, we placed our parents in this facility when it was becoming evident that they could no longer live on their own and required daily assistance. Once they transitioned, they loved the security and peace of mind that the staff and facilities of One Kalakaua provided. What made One K so great, was that each apartment was individually owned (or rented, as in our case). All residents were provided with a large meal (salad, soup, entree/starch/veg, dessert,drink) per day. They also had the option of cooking for themselves, as each unit had a full kitchen. This suited my parents perfectly. As their health deteriorated, the staff of One K provided the services necessary to perform activities of daily life.
