ORCHARD PARK

My parent lived here for several years until they passed away. The grounds are nice with a central location in the city. This is a satisfactory place to live (retirement community) but I can not recommend it for residents with medical concerns (assisted living). The owner, Virgil, is on a tight budget and corners are cut with medical staffing/training/services and the quantity/quality of food provided at mealtimes. My parent has received the wrong pills/dosage and medical issues were overlooked or handled poorly. Communication with the families of the residents needs improvement. They didn't even know what hospital my parent went to just before they passed, but I figured it out and got there in time to say goodbye. Most of the staff are friendly although there appears to be a lot of turnover. The final blow was when I came to pick up my parent's mail, they had it all returned to the post office so I couldn't even track down bills or contact people to inform them my parent had passed. I do not recommend Orchard Park.

My mother was a resident there for over a year and they took great care of her! She was 100 and blind from macular degeneration. The staff considered her as their grandmother. My family was very involved with the care of our mother and greatly appreciate everything they did for her.

Both my grandparents lived here. The staff are very kind. The food is delicious and staff are considerate of special diets. They offer great vegetarian and gluten free options. The owner is genuine and cares for residents and employees. Five stars in my book!

My mom has been living at Orchard Park for over 2 years. It can be a difficult transition but I was very happy how content my mom has become. She is as independent as she wants to be, yet, can walk out her room door and I know people are around, or that assistance is nearby. Recently the staff went above and beyond to help me with some birthday plans that I had to do long distance for my mom’s birthday!! I was hitting a glitch, and when I shared my problem they just stepped in and solved it. I really appreciate the care, the kindnesses, and the patience the entire staff, as well as Virgil, has personally shown my mom. I believe her life has been extended by being there.

Absolutely Wonderful!! My grandmother has lived here for the last 3 years and the staff is simply amazing! They truly care for their clients and the love shows! So glad that we were able to find Orchard Park!
