OAKS AT ACWORTH

I am so thrilled to have transferred my sister to this facility from another. The Oaks is truly family. We were greeted upon arrival by the smiling face of Evan. He made sure we were comfortable while waiting for a tour. Shawn took us for a tour and really showcased all amenities offered. Katherine spent time with us highlighting the memory care program and how The Oaks differ from other facilities. Courtney the exec director is fabulous. She listened to our concerns and patiently answered all our questions. Lisa in the memory care unit is so patient with my sister. She sets expectations and assures my sister meets them. Lisa encourages my sister to attend most of the activities along with providing some quiet time. I am impressed with Jessica who provides an array of activities and field trips. She assures memory care residents are included. The Facebook page is a true testament to the enjoyment of all. The MC unit is small and compact. This is perfect as the staff has eyes on the residents at all times providing the supervision needed. If I could give a score higher than five I would.

My Grandmother lived her for the last year and a half of her life. In top of the place being beautiful, the star truly cares for each of their residents. When she passed, the emotion and love shown for her and our family is something money can’t buy. Highly recommend for anyone looking to have their loved one live here.

The time had come for my mother to transition from independent living to assisted living and I truly feel we've made a great decision to be a resident of the Oaks at Acworth. Her move was about 90 days ago, and the transition couldn't have gone any smoother. Everyone whether it be management, community relations, wellness, nursing, lifestyle, food service to maintenance has been more than accommodating to not only my mother but to myself and our family. The staff to resident ratio is amazing and every staff member makes it a point to know everything about the residents beyond their name, level of care or even food preference. If we have a concern or question it has been addressed in a timely manner every time. We make it a point to visit often and we are welcomed with open arms every time we walk into the Oaks. These types of moves are never easy for any family, but I know my mother is in great hands!

In November we moved my mother into The Overlook. Although she was only there for a short time due to the progression of her pancreatic cancer, the Overlook and Heartland teams gave her (and our family) amazing support. Becky was always helpful with all of our questions and everyone showed a caring side that can only come from this being a calling on their lives. Our family will be forever grateful for how mom was cared for during the last weeks of her life. Thank you!

My wife was in the Memory Care Unit for a years and a half. The Overlook staff took such wonderful care of her and gave her so much love that I wished to give something back. Accordingly, I have provided musical entertainment during lunch for the residents since my wife's death as a way of saying, "Thank you." I was pleased to see that Overlook received five stars in its latest public health inspection. The living conditions are fine, but the love that the staff gives makes Overlook at Cedarcrest outstanding.
